Kate Middleton 'feeling empowered' with new 'blonde' hair at Balmoral
The Princess of Wales is in her 'bronde' era...Kate Middleton, the Princess of Wales, appeared to show off a new lighter hair colour, with hints of blonde highlights, as she attended a church service at Balmoral last weekend.
The 43-year-old rocked a honey blonde head of hair as she headed to the service at Crathie Kirk alongside husband Prince William and their three children in tow.
The Wales family joined other members of the royal family, including King Charles and Queen Camilla, who travelled separately.

William, 43, was behind the wheel as the couple made their way to church with children Prince George, 12, Princess Charlotte, 10, and seven-year-old Prince Louis in the back.
Kate Middleton‘s honey blonde hair was down, in a natural hairstyle, and flowed over her shoulders.
She smiled in the passenger seat as she was snapped with her new locks.
The royals attended the church service as they enjoy the Bank Holiday weekend in Aberdeenshire. It’s also custom for The Firm to spend their summer breaks at the Scottish estate, a tradition held by generations of the family.
The small Church of Scotland parish kirk is their regular place of worship while they’re staying in the area. The late Queen Elizabeth II also regularly attended the church services there as well.
It’s a rare summer outing for the Princess of Wales, as she enjoys spending time with her family.
Royal fans gushed over Kate’s look with one person saying on X: “Love the Princess of Wales’ new look.”
Another wrote: “It’s always lovely to see Catherine and loving her hair and hat.”
A third added: “Absolutely sun-kissed beautiful hair.”
Kate Middleton’s hair appears lighter than her previous public appearance, when she stepped out in July for Wimbledon. The royal attended the final two days of the championships and was seen sporting a richer shade of brown.
Following Kate’s appearance switch-up, an expert has weighed in on why the princess has updated her look.
Body language expert, Darren Stanton, detailed on behalf of Betfair Slots: “While this would be a small thing in a normal person, she knows that this will go viral globally.
“Internally she’s feeling very powerful, in the best possible way – she’s feeling empowered.”
Darren explained that Kate’s appearance change demonstrates how “confident and empowered” she’s feeling and indicates that she is “looking forward to the next chapter”.
“Not just in a personal sense but also in her professional life,” he noted.
Kate’s changing hair colour
It’s not the first time Kate’s tried something new, as Kate Middleton has tried various hair styles and colours over the years, but the honey blonde is a new step for her.
She previously had similar sun-kissed locks in 2019, and in 2023 she tried curtain bangs. However, she typically sticks to her tried-and-tested hairstyle of a bouncy blowout.
One year she event gave a long bob (lob) a go, the shortest she’s ever had her tresses in public.

It’s a step away from her trademark brunette wavy style and has become a hit with fans.
One wrote on X (Twitter): “The Princess of Wales is stunningly beautiful.”
Another asked: “Did Catherine dye her hair or is it light bc of the sun?”
Meanwhile, a third approved of Kate Middleton’s new hair look: “Like her hair colour! Blonde!”
