Princess Diana’s death is still a tragedy that many recall, all these years later. The royal, who was just 36 years old at the time, passed away following a car crash in Paris. The accident also killed the driver Henri Paul and her partner Dodi Fayed.

Following an extensive investigation, it was ruled that Diana had died from serious injuries from the car accident on August 31, 1997. The vehicle, driven by Paul who was over the drink-drive limit, was also being chased by paparazzi before the fatal incident in the Alma Tunnel in the city.

The royal’s heart stopped more than once, and she was resuscitated by medical crews at the scene. However, when she arrived at hospital, Princess Diana’s death was confirmed.

Moments after the princess’ death, a photo of her sons Princes William and Harry was placed in Diana’s hands.

“This was my mum, you never even met her.”
