Prince William 'aware of the dangers' over King Charles and Harry 'meeting' in UK

Will long-awaited reconciliation come next week?

Prince William will be keenly aware of potential “dangers” the royal family could face if King Charles and Prince Harry meet face-to-face, a royal expert believes.

Speculation about a possible “reconciliation” between The Firm and the Sussexes has generated headlines for several months.

Back in May, Prince Harry told the BBC he was keen on making up with his royal relatives. “It would be nice to reconcile,” he admitted at the time, while also seemingly acknowledging the monarch’s battle with cancer. “Life is precious. I don’t know how much longer my father has,” he added at the time.

However, while media coverage concerning the chances of King Charles, Prince William, and Prince Harry healing any rift between them has continued at pace ahead of the expectation that the Duke of Sussex will be back in the UK next week, one royal observer has laid out why the Prince of Wales may be cautious.

Will Prince William and King Charles be meeting with Prince Harry?

Commentator Richard Fitzwilliams exclusively told Royal Insider: “It has been reported there will be a meeting between King Charles and Prince Harry. This was was anticipated by the recent meeting of aides which almost certainly was leaked to the press.”

Mr Fitzwilliams also recalled how Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle have been accused of courting the press amid reported “trust issues”.

Prince William will be well aware of the dangers and how the Sussexes use the press,” he continued.

Mr Fitzwilliams also claimed: “Only a few days ago Meghan complained on Bloomberg about how inauthentic her life was when a working royal. And in May, whilst claiming that he sought ‘reconciliation’ Harry launched into some intemperate attacks on courtiers. Some of his comments were erratic in his interview.”

‘The Waleses are the future of the monarchy’

Meanwhile, Mr Fitzwilliams also asserted why Prince William and his family may matter more when it comes to the bigger royal picture.

“The Waleses and their children are the future of the monarchy,” he said. “I am sure King Charles, who is well aware of what is at stake, will keep William closely informed. He is battling cancer.

“Harry last saw him when he heard the news, but made the mistake of going on Good Morning America afterwards. He did not break confidences but this did highlight the Sussexes’ symbiotic relationship with the media. The royal family do not trust them.”

Mr Fitzwilliams also highlighted how reports concerning a tribute from Prince Harry to his late mother may also not go down very well.

He added: “2027 is also the year when Harry may be involved in a documentary for Netflix about Diana. That would not be welcomed by the royal family. William, who was involved in documentaries with Harry honouring her memory in 2017, will be especially concerned if this were to happen.”
