Kate Middleton 'worries' Prince William 'will regret going too far with Harry and Meghan titles decision'

Princess of Wales said to be "torn" over action her husband may take

Kate Middleton is allegedly concerned Prince William may come to “regret” how Prince Harry and Meghan Markle may be dealt with under his reign – particularly when it comes to the Sussexes’ royal titles.

Prince Harry, 40, and Meghan, 44, retained their ducal status when they stepped away from royal duties in early 2020. Also, as part of ‘Megxit’, they also agreed not to make use of their HRH privilege, while their children Archie and Lilibet were not permitted to be known as a prince and princess respectively until their grandfather King Charles became monarch in 2022.

However, amid speculation that a face-to-face meeting between King Charles, 76, and his second son may be imminent, one magazine report claims Kate, 43, is feeling “torn” about action reportedly proposed by her husband.

Prince William and Kate Middleton ‘involved in royal talks’

Heat magazine reports Kate – possibly alongside Prince William, King Charles, Queen Camilla – has been tipped to have been involved in behind-the-scenes discussions during the royals’ Balmoral summer break about the future of the monarchy.

The mag reckons “huge decisions” were under discussion, as members of The Firm met in private.

Furthermore, it is claimed Prince William, 43, is resolute a slimmed-down royal family is the best option with which to proceed.

And so, it is alleged, he “believes that means phasing out Harry and Meghan completely and stripping away their last traces of royal privilege, including their HRH titles and their children’s titles”.

However, while Kate is said to “support William’s vision”, she doesn’t want his decisions to “burn bridges with Harry forever”.

If the decision is to cut Harry out completely, Kate knows there’s no coming back from that.

An unnamed insider is quoting as revealing: “She worries William might regret going too far. Kate’s instincts are to protect relationships and leave a door open. But she’s realistic, too. If the decision is to cut Harry out completely, she knows there’s no coming back from that.”

‘Ties will be severed’ for this ‘reason’

Ultimately, Heat reports, Prince William is concerned with the “survival” of the monarchy. And it seems like Prince Harry and his family may not be in those plans.

The source continued: “[Prince William] sees a future where it’s him, Kate, their kids, and a handful of working royals. Harry and Meghan Markle just don’t fit into that vision anymore.”

But, while Kate is said to feel “sadness” over the alleged rift between the royal brothers, it is suggested she is aware matters may come to a head soon.

The insider added: “Kate knows that if titles are removed, Harry will take it as nothing less than a direct attack on him and his family. There’s no way he’d see it as anything other than a humiliation. If that decision is made, ties will be severed.”
