As questions swirl about the future of With Love, Meghan, odds are rising that Meghan Markle’s next move could be a bombshell memoir if her Netflix show gets cancelled.

According to new figures from Pundit Arena, a memoir could be the most likely next chapter in the Duchess of Sussex’s career.

The site currently lists the odds of Meghan, 44, releasing a personal book at 8/11, surpassing all other ventures, including fashion and a return to acting.

Meghan Markle tipped to release memoir if With Love, Meghan is ‘cancelled’

The duchess’ lifestyle and cooking series, With Love, Meghan, debuted with strong viewership on Netflix in March. Then, a second season premiered at the end of August.

However, both seasons received  mixed reviews from critics and fans.

Despite the buzz around its high production value and A-list guests, the show is 1/2 to be cancelled after two seasons and a holiday special. Odds of a third season renewal sit at 6/4, according to Pundit Arena.

Pundit Arena spokesperson Joe Lyons explained: “Following reports that With Love, Meghan is under review by Netflix, the odds suggest we may have already seen the final season.”

He added: “At 1/2 to be cancelled after season two, its future looks uncertain. Attention is now shifting to what Meghan does next.”

Now, attention has shifted toward the publishing world.

A memoir from Meghan would echo her husband Prince Harry’s bestselling book Spare, which hit shelves in 2023 and sparked global headlines for its revelations and claims about royal life.

“A memoir leads the market at 8/11,” Lyons noted. “Which would see Markle follow in the steps of her husband.”

Speculation about a tell-all book has lingered for months. Royal watchers have suggested that Meghan may be holding back her side of the story, particularly around her time as a working royal and her complex relationship with the British press.

‘A return to acting also remains on the table’

While publishing seems most likely, Meghan isn’t short of options.

Launching a clothing line, a natural extension of her style-forward public persona, is currently priced at 3/1. A fly-on-the-wall docuseries is listed at 5/1.

Meanwhile, a return to acting, her pre-royal profession, is given 6/1 odds.

A memoir leads the market at 8/11 which would see Markle follow in the steps of her husband.

“A return to acting also remains on the table for the Duchess of Sussex,” Lyons said. “She’s 6/1 to reappear on our TV screens as an actress.”

Meghan’s recent moves suggests she’s still very much involved in the lifestyle market.

But if the Netflix series ends, a memoir could be a more personal, powerful platform to shape her legacy. The Duchess of Sussex has given no hints at plans to release a memoir, however.

Meghan’s children join her on With Love, Meghan set

Meanwhile, the Duchess of Sussex has been under fire recently for her social media activity.

Despite the couple’s typical privacy around their children, she recently shared rare behind-the-scenes photos of Archie and Lilibet on set of With Love, Meghan season two.

In the images, Archie holds a clapperboard, while Lilibet sits in a director’s chair – their faces turned away from the camera. Many praised the sweet moments, but royal author Hugo Vickers was less convinced.

“He [Harry] ought to be extremely annoyed,” Vickers told The Sun. “Obviously, I don’t know what he thinks. But I think he does what he’s told probably.”

Vickers also raised concerns about how the children may feel about this exposure in the future.

“What worries me much more… is what the children themselves are going to think,” he said. “They will also realise at a certain point that they’ve never met their grandfathers and that they have cousins in England who have rather an interesting life, something which they’ve been kept away from.”
