Any moment of Prince Louis in public is usually totally adorable, and his first day of school in 2022 was no different.

In September of that year, the little prince headed into his first day of school alongside his parents, Prince William and Princess Kate, and his older siblings.

But the then four-year-old had royal fans in stitches as he appeared to refuse to hold his father’s hand as they arrived at the school.

At the time, his older siblings, Prince George and Princess Charlotte, were nine and seven respectively.

Prince Louis’ first day at school was the cutest display

The September 2022 day marked a big moment for Prince Louis, who is now seven.

Kate and Prince William were filmed walking Prince George, now 12, Princess Charlotte, now 10, and Prince Louis to their new school in Windsor.

The royal children were filmed meeting the headmaster of Lambrook School in Berkshire.

Prince George and Prince Louis were holding their mother’s hand as they approached the school. Princess Charlotte held Prince William’s hand.

Louis, however, hilariously refused to hold his father’s hand as they walked towards the entrance.

Headmaster Jonathan Perry bent down to shake the children’s hands and told them that it’s “lovely to have you with us”.

When asked if they were excited, all three children said “yes”.

Prince William confirmed this was the case, telling Perry that the kids had “lots of questions” to ask.

‘Louis is so ready to take over the world!’

Upon seeing the heartwarming clips of Louis and his siblings’ first day at school, royal fans headed to social media in their droves.

“Awww bless what an exciting day it must’ve been,” one royal fan tweeted.

“They’re growing fast. Hope they love the new school,” another said.

“Louis is so ready to take over the world!” a third wrote.

Other fans were finding it hilarious that Louis didn’t want to hold William’s hand.

“Prince Louis is not about holding dad’s hand today,” one fan laughed.

“So cute going to the orientation day at school today: Prince William reached for Prince Louis’s hand, but ‘Boss Baby’ had other ideas. ‘Sorry, Papa, I’m a big boy now!’ (My words),” another wrote.

“I think that’s adorable that Prince Louis wants to be holding just his mum’s hand like his big bro is doing. He grew up overnight,” another fan tweeted.

Where will Prince George go to school next?

Lambrook marked a new school for George and Charlotte following the family’s move from Kensington Palace to Adelaide Cottage in Windsor in the summer of 2022. George and Charlotte had previously attended Thomas’s Battersea school in London.

However, George is now in his final year at Lambrook. Next year, when he turns 13, he’ll move onto the next phase of his education.

Kensington Palace hasn’t yet confirmed where George will go. However, many reports suggest he’ll follow in William’s footsteps and attend Eton College.

Although Louis could join George at Eton in the future, Charlotte won’t be able to. This is because Eton is an all-boys school.

The Wales family will also experience change later this year when they move from Adelaide Cottage to Forest Lodge, an eight-bedroom property located in Windsor Great Park.
