Kate would always speak to the staff first, according to the butler

The way Kate Middleton behaves when she’s at home, away from the public eye, has been revealed by a former royal butler.

What royals truly act like when we can’t see them is something everyone has wondered at some stage. But there’s usually no way for us to truly know.

However, King Charles’ former royal butler Grant Harrold has revealed what Kate – who debuted her new blonde hair today (September 4) – was actually like to work with.

What is Kate Middleton like at home?

Grant spent seven years working for King Charles and other members of the royal family up until 2011. So, it’s fair to believe his accounts are pretty accurate to his experiences.

And it seems on the occasions he spent time with Kate, she was “very sweet” and “very easy-going”.

Grant told The Mirror: “She is a nice girl, also a bit of a joker. She’s got a sense of humour. It’s a royal cavalcade with her. She’s pretty easy-going, she just has a little bit about her.”

But what Kate did to show this side to him, was actually spend time with him and other workers when at home.

He said: “When she used to arrive, she would come into the kitchen and have a catch up with us. She would go into the house, but she would come in and see us first. Then go into the house. I thought it was quite nice. She’s very down to earth is what I’m trying to say. And that’s what I liked about her.”

Not only did she always make time for them, but Grant believes Kate “never” believed that she was “better than anyone else” despite her royal status.

He also admitted that having worked for the family for seven years, he finds it “so weird” seeing Kate and Prince William “get old”, as he remembers them in their early 20s very well.

Kate is also a hands-on parent

The revelation of what Kate is like at home comes not long after it was revealed she also is very much a hands-on parent for her kids at school.

The Real Housewives of London cast member Panthea Parker told HELLO! that their kids have played against each other during sports.

She is a nice girl, also a bit of a joker. She’s got a sense of humour.

Kate has sons Prince George, 12, and Louis, seven, alongside her daughter, Princess Charlotte, 10. So it would appear she has a busy school schedule.

Panthea was adamant that Kate would always show up at her kids’ sports matches though, no matter what.

She described Kate as: “So classy, so lovely. And she never misses any of her children’s matches. So she’s really amazing. And nor do I, otherwise how do I know that?”
