Kate Middleton has been seen making a cute tribute to her children as she embarked on her first royal engagement following her summer break.

The Prince and Princess of Wales, 43, resumed royal duties this week after taking some time off over the summer at Balmoral Castle. It’s likely their children have now returned to Lambrook School for a new year.

On Thursday (September 4), royal fans were delighted to see Kate debuting gorgeous lighter hair as she appeared in London to visit the Natural History Museum with William.

But she was also sporting a subtle tribute to her three children, which only eagle-eyed people may have spotted!

On Thursday, Kate and William made an appearance at the Natural History Museum in London.

The couple joined some South London school children, who were taking part in some nature-themed activities.

They visited some outdoor learning areas, although were soon forced to rush back inside due to a classic British downpour!

Kate was reportedly spotted shielding a group of children with her umbrella as she told their teachers: “Let them go in. Let’s take them inside, it’s pouring.”

In particular, the Princess of Wales attracted a great deal of attention as she showed off her new “blonde” locks.

As usual, she was also elegantly dressed, in chic trousers, a white blouse, and a tweed blazer.

Some royal fans also spotted another chic touch to her outfit, which appeared to be an adorable tribute to her children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis.

Just visible under her blouse collar, Kate wore a delicate gold necklace featuring charms of her children’s initials: “G”, “C” and “L”. Cute!

Has Kate taken inspo from Meghan Markle?

The necklace is similar to those worn by Kate’s estranged sister-in-law, Meghan Markle.

Over the years, the Duchess of Sussex has often been seen wearing various initials round her neck.

Back in 2016, amid speculation about her romance with Harry, Meghan caused a stir as she wore a necklace with “H” and “M” charms.

The subtle gesture appeared to confirm her much-speculated relationship with her now-husband Prince Harry. Meghan often affectionately refers to her husband by his initial “H”.

Over the years, Meghan also wore an “A” necklace, the initial of her firstborn, son Prince Archie.

During a recent interview, she also reportedly wore a necklace with Harry, Archie, and Lilbiet’s initials on it.

Next week, Prince Harry will make a trip over to England, to appear at the annual WellChild Awards. However, Meghan, Archie, six, and Lilibet, four, are not expected to be joining him.
