Prince William jokes with Hollywood star Eugene Levy in The Reluctant Traveler's new trailer
Did the star have a few drinks with the heir to the throne?!
Royal fans are thrilled at the prospect of Prince William making a guest appearance in Hollywood star Eugene Levy’s The Reluctant Traveler amid suggestions the Prince of Wales could get “drunk” with the Schitt’s Creek fave.
The trailer for the upcoming series of the travel documentary fronted by Canadian actor Eugene, 78, dropped on Thursday (September 4).
And while Prince William supporters cheered the unlikely royal cameo, American Pie star Eugene shared how he’d like to toast “cheers” alongside the heir to the throne, too.
When will Prince William be in The Reluctant Traveler?
The Reluctant Traveler season 3 is on Apple TV+ from Friday, September 19. And going by the teaser preview, Eugene certainly gets a taste of the royal life as he makes the trip to the UK.
Amid other scenes showing the Johnny Rose actor travelling to Ireland, India, and Mexico, he is also seen padding around Windsor Castle and what appears to be Windsor Great Park.
Prince William pops up towards the end of near-100 second trailer, with a gag cracked about “getting drunk” together.
‘Was getting drunk with Prince William on your bucket list?’
Prince William is heard in voiceover before being seen in the trailer – and it is a surprisingly forward question he puts to Eugene.
“Was getting drunk with Prince William on your bucket list?” the royal asks, as Eugene appears to be looking downwards and frowning.
However, within moments, deadpan star Eugene is beaming as he replies: “That’s the bucket.”

A chuckling Prince William then repeats back: “That’s the bucket, is it?”
Views of Windsor Castle from the air also feature in the trailer, as well as the indication Eugene will be “living the royal life in the United Kingdom”.
He can also be heard saying in voiceover: “Oh my. It doesn’t get much better than that.”
How royal fans have reacted
Over on X, social media users were captivated by the prospect of Eugene and Prince William hanging out.
“Eugene Levy drinking with Prince William? I’ll be watching!” one such user wrote.
Another posted: “Ooo I’ve never been so glad to have Apple TV! I will be tuning in to watch the future king and Eugene Levy.”
“Oh my stars, it’s Prince William talking to Eugene Levy,” exclaimed a third.
“Can’t wait to watch this!!! Loving this royal crossover,” posted a fourth.
Another impressed observer added: “Was not expecting Prince William to make an appearance! Love Eugene, will definitely check out.”
Meanwhile, someone else vowed: “Definitely watching for Prince William.”

“NOOOOOO FRIGGIN way!!!!!” gushed a very excited fan, adding: “Prince William and a national treasure in my home country Eugene Levy, together!!!! I am seated!!!!”
And yet another prayed for other royals to show their faces, too. They wrote: “Prince William!! What a joy to see him & Eugene! I realllllly hope the little Princes and Princess Charlotte make an appearance too. And of course their lovely mama Princess Catherine. PLEASE say the legendary Eugene Levy gets the full Wales family.” [Sic]
