This week, Prince William gave a rare insight into his life as a father, revealing what his three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, are really like behind closed doors.

While Prince William’s visit was previously confirmed, royal watchers were delighted by a surprise appearance from Kate, Princess of Wales.

According to the Daily Mail, the Princess of Wales was “keen to join her husband to commemorate and celebrate the life of the late queen”.

Queen Elizabeth II served as president of the Sandringham Women’s Institute (WI) from 2003 until her death in 2022.

For the occasion, Kate wore a grey plaid Alessandra Rich dress paired with classic grey heels and Kiki McDonough earrings.

Meanwhile, Prince William offered a glimpse into the private world of his young royals.

When George is behind closed doors, it’s completely different.

When asked how the children get along, he described seven-year-old Prince Louis as a “character” and said: “He knows how to run his sister [Charlotte] around.” The remark sparked laughter at the table.

But it was Prince George, the future king, who drew a particularly revealing comment from his father.

“When George is behind closed doors, it’s completely different,” William shared. “George just knows how to behave.”

Despite his composed demeanour at events like Trooping the Colour, William suggested George has a much more mischievous side at home.

“There are five years between [George and Louis]. You’ll see the difference. They’re not the same,” he added.

The visit was held in memory of the late Queen Elizabeth II, who had a long-standing connection to the WI.

On Instagram, the Prince and Princess of Wales described the event as a “very special opportunity”.

The royal couple shared a candid video featuring clips of them enjoying cake and mingling with the WI members.

“Cake and conversation to mark three years since the passing of Her Late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II,” the caption read.

“It was very special to hear from those who had met Her Late Majesty, and reflect on the impact she had within the @womensinstitute, as a longstanding member. Thank you to the ladies of the Sunningdale WI for having us.”

Meanwhile, Prince Harry returned to the UK on Monday ahead of the WellChild Awards and paid a private visit to his grandmother’s final resting place at St George’s Chapel, Windsor.

According to reports, the Duke of Sussex laid a wreath in her honour.

While there has been speculation over whether Harry might reunite with King Charles during his UK stay, insiders claim a meeting with Prince William is firmly off the table.

Tensions between the brothers remain high following years of public fallouts and explosive interviews.

In a recent interview, body language expert Judi James acknowledged that Harry’s UK visit hmay have stirred up “complex emotions” for his older brother.

“William’s emotions will clearly be complex as he mourns two people he loved in his life,” she told The Mirror. “His grandmother on the anniversary of her death and his brother, who also used to be his closest pal.”
