How Queen Camilla's family reacted after hearing she was 'having King Charles' baby' following Twitter blunder
Queen Camilla once found herself at the centre of a Twitter storm!
In one of the most amusing royal mix-ups, Queen Camilla’s son, Tom Parker Bowles, was left stunned when a Twitter typo wrongly claimed his mother was pregnant with King Charles‘ baby.
While Queen Camilla and Charles have children from previous relationships, they don’t have any kids together.
Confusion occurred back in 2018. A British newspaper accidentally referred to the former Duchess of Cornwall instead of the Duchess of Cambridge in a tweet about Princess Kate’s third pregnancy.

Queen Camilla’s son reacts to news that she was pregnant
The now-deleted tweet read in 2018: “The Duchess of Cornwall is due to give birth to her third child next month.”
Cue the internet chaos!
Camilla’s son, Tom Parker Bowles, wasted no time reacting to the shocking (and obviously incorrect) claim. Quoting the original tweet claiming Camilla was pregnant, he dryly responded: “Dear God. Really?”
That was all it took for social media to erupt.
English comedian Dom Joly jumped in with: “Congratulations on your impending sibling. Must have been a surprise?”
“You’re not wrong,” Tom cheekily replied.
One journalist joined the party, jokingly congratulating Tom on becoming a “proud big brother”.
The blunder quickly went viral. Although the tweet was swiftly deleted, the damage was done.
Congratulations on your impending sibling. Must have been a surprise?
Of course, the real news at the time was that Kate, then known as the Duchess of Cambridge, was expecting her third child, Prince Louis.
But thanks to a one-word error, Queen Camilla, then 70, briefly became the centre of an internet storm.
Camilla, who married Charles in 2005, has two grown children with her first husband Andrew Parker Bowles: Tom, 50, and Laura Lopes, 47.

Queen Camilla’s royal title over the years
After marrying King Charles in 2005, Queen Camilla technically held the title of Princess of Wales, but chose not to use it.
Instead, she was known as the Duchess of Cornwall, reportedly out of respect for the late Princess Diana, Charles’ first wife. The late princess had become closely associated with the title after marrying Charles in 1981.
Traditionally, women take on the female version of their husband’s royal title. So when Diana married the then-Prince of Wales, she became Princess of Wales, a title that remains strongly linked to her memory.
When Charles became king in 2022, his eldest son Prince William inherited the Prince of Wales title. His wife, Kate, then became the current Princess of Wales.
Royal historian Marlene Koenig explained that Camilla’s decision to avoid the Princess of Wales title was deliberate, to avoid public backlash.
“Camilla was not popular or well liked,” Marlene told Town & Country. “[There was] a lot of tension and anger among a certain element of the population. It was decided Camilla would be styled as the Duchess of Cornwall, even though, of course, she [was] the Princess of Wales.”
Although Camilla’s popularity has grown over time, she remained the Duchess of Cornwall until Charles became king. She was then styled as Queen Consort, and since her 2023 coronation, as Queen Camilla.
