Prince Harry appeared “torn” as members of the public begged him to talk to them during his recent Nottingham visit amid his UK return.

On Tuesday (September 9), the Duke of Sussex, 40, visited the Community Recording Studio (CRS) charity for a day of activities.

During the visit, Harry spoke to young people at the charity and watched performances from them. Prince Harry also announced an incredible £1.1million donation from his own pocket to BBC Children in Need.

The donation is designed to help with the charity’s work tackling violence that impacts young people.

Prince Harry greets crowds in Nottingham

During his Nottingham visit, Harry was greeted by happy crowds who wanted to enjoy a moment with the royal.

A video shared on X shows the prince waving to the fans as he walked towards his car seemingly after his charity visit.

Members of the crowd were heard asking Harry for a picture, before begging “please” as Harry seemingly struggled with whether to get into his car or head over.

He ultimately chose the latter, hopping over a small wall and moving with careful agility. He began shaking hands, interacting with the public and taking photographs.

A warm royal welcome from the public

A fan eagerly took his hand for a handshake but held on to snap a picture. She told the prince: “It’s very good to meet you.”

As she struggled with her phone, Harry smiled: “Oh, it’s not going to work!”

He continued to greet and shake hands with others in the crowd. But it didn’t last long, as his bodyguard guided him back to his car.

Prince Harry was so torn but caved in the end, the crowds calling him. We love you Prince Harry!

The user who shared the video captioned the moment: “Prince Harry was so torn but caved in the end, the crowds calling him. We love you Prince Harry!”

A fellow user commented: “What a guy, he’s real with the same warmth and charisma as his mother.”

Another chimed in: “Such a lovely and kind man.”

Harry’s donation to Children in Need

The purpose of his visit to Nottingham was to attend the CRS charity event and announce his personal donation to Children in Need.

Children in Need is a charity officially run by the BBC, dedicated to supporting disadvantaged children and young people across the UK. It supports the CRS.

Trevor Rose, CEO at CRS, said of Harry’s donation: ”The duke’s visit and this generous donation are a powerful endorsement of the work being done at a grassroots level to positively impact young people’s futures.

“It’s a reminder that when we invest in young people, we invest in safer, stronger communities.”

As reported by Nottinghamshire Live, Trevor gushed: “Honestly, it feels like we have a big brother. Whenever he comes he does what a big brother should do, which is look after his youngest.”

This statement shows their close relationship and what type of person the duke is: warm and full of love.

The Duke of Sussex’s visit to Nottingham was more than a brief public appearance; it was a reminder of the positive influence he continues to have both as a member of the royal family and as a committed philanthropist.
