Meghan Markle and Kim Kardashian ‘drama’
Earlier this year, Kim, 44, reportedly “snubbed” the opportunity to work with Meghan, despite her mother Kris Jenner’s bond with Meghan’s mum, Doria Ragland.
“As much as Kim respects her mum Kris’ choice to support them, she doesn’t want to be associated with anyone that’s controversial unless they really are a great benefit to her,” a source allegedly told Closer Magazine in February.
“As far as she can tell, there’s not much benefit to hanging out with the Sussexes.”
Meghan Markle ‘determined’ to collaborate with Kim Kardashian
Now, seven months on, it’s been reported that Meghan, 44, is “determined” to work with Keeping Up With the Kardashians star Kim and has been pitching a business proposal to the star.
However, it’s not just Kim that Meghan has to impress, it’s her mum, Kris, too.
“Meghan’s gotten very tight with Kris. She’s someone who she goes to for business advice. But that doesn’t mean Meghan is automatically going to get to collaborate with Kim,” a source apparently told RadarOnline.
The source then reportedly went on to claim what Meghan has to do to get Kim and Kris onside.
“She’s going to have to prove that teaming up would be a benefit for Kim’s brand. And not just her own,” they then explained.
Royal collab on the cards?
The source then continued, saying that Meghan is “confident” that a joint project would be a “win” for both of them.
They added that she thinks with their “combined” star power, they could do “massive sales”. Meghan reportedly believes that a “wellness” related project would “hit the sweet spot”.
The source apparently added that Meghan is “obsessed” with “clean beauty, skincare and home rituals”, which she believes would pair perfectly with Kim’s SKIMS aesthetic.
“But Kim is cautious. Meghan will have to bring more than just her name to the table. But she’s determined to make this happen and isn’t backing off,” the source concluded.
Royal Insider has contacted Meghan and Kim’s representatives for comment.
Meghan sends As Ever jam to Kris Jenner
In April, Meghan launched her brand, As Ever.
Not only did many of the products on the As Ever website sell out practically straight away, but it had some attention from some big names too.
Amongst those big names was Kim’s mum, Kris.
Taking to her Instagram at the time, Kris shared a picture of an As Ever package she received from Meghan.
A wooden box – engraved with the duchess’ As Ever logo – contained Meghan’s cooking products, including crepe and cookie mixes, jam, flower sprinkles, and herbal teas.
“I can’t wait to try every single thing! I’m so excited!!!! @meghan @aseverofficial,” Kris captioned the post.
So could a collab be in the works soon? Only time will tell.
