Mother-of-three Princess Kate visited Sudbury Silk Mills, a weaving mill in Suffolk, where she was reunited with Lord Lieutenant of Suffolk, Jamie Lowther-Pinkerton.

The heartfelt moment was caught on camera and Kate could be seen warmly enveloping long-time friend Jamie into her arms.

As the former Private Secretary to both Prince William and Prince Harry, the former British Army officer has played a pivotal role in the life of the royals and is a close family friend.

Kate and Jamie made that very clear as they were seen smiling and embracing.

The reunion occurred when Kate first arrived at the Sudbury Silk Mills in Suffolk.

The princess had two engagements on Thursday which celebrated the craftsmanship of British textile manufacturers.

Princess Kate’s public engagements

During her public outing Kate made sure those who welcomed her were aware of her appreciation and she even stayed longer than scheduled to catch with staff and schoolchildren who crowded outside to catch a glimpse of the princess.

Later that day, Princess Kate continued her tour of Kent and visited Marina Mill in Cuxton, where she stunned onlookers with her effortless ability to pull her bronde hair into a chic up-do without a hair tie.

Jamie is amongst six others as Prince George’s godparent.

The future king’s godparents are: Jamie, Zara Tindall, Oliver Baker, Earl Grosvenor (Hugh), Emilia Jardine-Paterson, Julia Samuel and William van Cutsem.

The Eton-educated secretary has been linked to the royals for years. He stepped down from his role as private secretary in 2013.

Apparently, at the time, his departure had been in the pipeline for months, as per the Telegraph.

“It certainly didn’t come as any shock to them when he said he would be leaving,” a source told the publication in 2013.

He had served Kate, William and Harry from 2005 to 2013. This was reportedly almost double the length of tenure than any other private secretary for the three royals.

Being George’s godparent isn’t the only close link Jamie shares with the royals.

His son, also named William, was one of the two pageboys at William and Kate’s fairytale wedding in 2011.

Princess Kate’s stunning appearance

The Princess of Wales has wowed royal fans this week with her appearance, with many flocking to social media to praise her lighter hair.

One penned: “She is simply authentically lovely.”

“She couldn’t be lovelier while serving her nation faithfully year after year. What a gem,” gushed another.

“She’s stunning. She’s a great lady,” praised a third.
