The Duke of Sussex, 41, made an unexpected trip to Ukraine after his four-day visit to the UK last week.
The royal boarded an overnight train to Kyiv on Thursday (September 11).

Prince Harry visits memorial in Ukraine
It was Prince Harry’s second trip to Ukraine this year, but his first to the capital. He visited the Superhumans Center in Lviv in April.
The duke visited Kyiv last week to celebrate the recovery and rehabilitation of veterans who suffered injuries since the war with Russia began.
During his time there, Harry met with Ukraine’s Minister for Veterans Affairs, Natalia Kalmykova, to discuss ways his Invictus Games Foundation can “enhance support for wounded, injured, and sick serving personnel and veterans returning home with life-changing injuries”.
I’ve never experienced anything like that in my life.
To conclude his trip, Harry paid a visit to a memorial in Kyiv’s Maidan Square, where he laid a wreath to those who had lost their lives in the war.
And the visit appeared to have a profound effect upon him.
In a video clip shared by NBC News, the prince appeared to be fighting back tears as he tried to put his feelings into words.
“When you’re standing at the front here you have no idea how…” Prince Harry began, before breaking off, visibly overcome by emotion.

“I don’t know how to describe it,” he continued, looking visibly emotional. “It’s just… it’s the most insanely sad yet beautiful thing. All the love and attention and the care that’s gone into every photo frame, every flag, every memento. It’s extraordinary. I’ve never experienced anything like that in my life.”
“It’s so sad,” he concluded, putting a hand to his heart and turning away emotionally.
‘Like mother, like son’
The video of Harry appears to have touched many people, with several likening the prince to his late mother, Princess Diana.
“He has such a humane heart, just like his mother,” one person commented on the video.
Another person said: “Like mother like son. His mother went to the most dangerous places to help the needy, Prince Harry is following his mother’s footsteps. He has a heart that cares for others, you can tell from his face how hard this hit him.”
A third person agreed: “It’s moments like this that I see his mother in him. This is exactly the type of response she would have had.”
Harry has since returned to the US, reuniting with his wife Meghan Markle and their two children.
