Jimmy Fallon questioned by royal guards over his behaviour at King Charles' Balmoral Castle
Jimmy even wore a kiltPopular American TV host Jimmy Fallon has revealed his awkward run-in with royal guards at Balmoral Castle. But it had quite the surprising ending.
During a trip to Scotland, Jimmy ended up unexpectedly meeting four armed royal guards. The star was on a solo trip, having always had the wish to go on a luxury train journey.
The royals would spend their summers at Balmoral. But unfortunately for Jimmy, he didn’t get to meet any members of the family, Jimmy has shared his experience in a social media video, and even joked that things almost went wrong.

Jimmy Fallon’s trip to Balmoral Castle
His trip started in Edinburgh where he hopped on the Royal Scotsman to enjoy whisky tasting, before disembarking in Keith.
But it was his time at Balmoral Castle which he got up to the most interesting part of his trip.
He said in a video: “I am here in Scotland. I went on a vacation by myself. My wife is working and the kids are at school. My wife was like, ‘I’ve got the kids, where would you want to go?’
“And I have always wanted to go on one of those luxury trains. So, I did that.”
Speaking about his time at Balmoral Castle, Jimmy said: “My friend Eddie Burns, back in the States, I told him I’m going to Scotland. He said, ‘I’m Scottish, my great-grandfather was Scottish.’
“I said, ‘Give me something of yours, like some DNA, and I’ll throw it in the water or I’ll bury it somewhere in Scotland and they’ll know that you did well back in America.'”
Eddie gave Jimmy a tie clip from his time in the NYPD, and while he was at the River Dee beside Balmoral, Jimmy threw it into the river.
But when Jimmy turned around, there were four armed guards watching him.
He said in a clip: “And then we have got some law enforcement happening. So, I might get arrested for this Eddie. But it was worth it.”

Jimmy had dinner with the royal guards
After his slight panic that he was going to be in trouble, Jimmy discovered that they were actually just interested in what he was doing.
He explained: “I turned around and there were four armed royal guards staring at me. They come over to me, they go, ‘What are you doing?’ and I joke, ‘A little littering.’
“They ask if I’m Jimmy Fallon and I told them I was. I said, ‘I’m over at Fife Arms but I haven’t checked in yet. If you want to, I would love to buy you a drink at the hotel.’ They said, ‘No, we’re good, but maybe we’ll throw you a dinner.'”
Later that day Jimmy got a phone call from the front desk, telling him that the royal guard was there for him and they needed an answer by noon.
Jimmy then decided to try to fit in at the dinner, and decided to wear a kilt. And as a result, he had “the best dinner ever” and was even given a Glengarry hat and his own kilt.
