Andrew Mountbatten Windsor asked to be questioned about Jeffrey Epstein

Reports claims that a US congressional committee investigating the Jeffrey Epstein case has made a formal request for Andrew Mountbatten Windsor to answer questions about his links to the disgraced financier.

Members of congress are said to have written to Andrew Mountbatten Windsor.

In this letter they are said to have requested he sit for a “transcribed interview” about his “long-standing friendship” with Epstein.

Just last week, Buckingham Palace released a new statement confirming that Andrew would lose all of his remaining royal titles.

Shortly before that, Andrew himself released a statement saying he would stop using his Duke of York title.

Andrew officially stepped down from his public duties in 2019.

This decision came after he did a Newsnight interview about his friendship with Epstein.

Allegations against Andrew Mountbatten Windsor

King Charles’ brother also faced allegations of sexual assault by the late Virginia Giuffre.

Ms Giuffre, who took her own life in April, alleged she was made to sleep with Andrew in the early 2000s.

Giuffre said that she was 17 at the time and had been trafficked by Epstein.

Andrew has always vehemently denied the allegations.

In 2021, Ms Giuffre sued Andrew in a US civil lawsuit, accusing him of sexual assault.

The following year, they reached an out-of-court settlement. The sum of this settlement was undisclosed.

The royal repeated that the settlement did not mean any liability or admission of guilt.

US congress wish to speak to Andrew about financial records

Despite this, it seems he is still garnering attention from members of US congress.

Reports claim that the letter states that US politicians said their House Oversight Committee had identified “financial records containing notations such as ‘massage for Andrew’ that raise serious questions”.

Royal Insider contacted Buckingham Palace for comment. They informed us that the palace does not operate or speak for him in any capacity. Royal Insider has also contacted the office of Andrew for comment.

The letter, signed by 16 members of Congress, requested Andrew responds by November 20.

The letter to Andrew

According to reports, the letter reads: “We write to seek your co-operation in the Committee on Oversight and Government Reform’s (Committee) investigation into Jeffrey Epstein’s sex trafficking operations.

“The committee is seeking to uncover the identities of Mr Epstein’s co-conspirators and enablers and to understand the full extent of his criminal operations.”

The letter continued: “Well-documented allegations against you, along with your long-standing friendship with Mr Epstein, indicate that you may possess knowledge of his activities relevant to our investigation.

“In the interest of justice for the victims of Jeffrey Epstein, we request that you co-operate with the committee’s investigation by sitting for a transcribed interview with the Committee.”

Evidently, the stripping of Andrew’s titles doesn’t mean scrutiny of him is over.
