Prince Harry showed off his protective side with wife Meghan Markle during their appearance at Kris Jenner’s birthday party this weekend, according to a body language expert.

The royal couple was in Beverly Hills, California, over the weekend to celebrate Kris’ 70th birthday at businessman Jeff Bezos’ mansion.

Harry, 41, and Meghan, 44, joined big names such as Oprah Winfrey, Adele, Serena Williams, and Justin Bieber to celebrate Kardashians’ matriarch Kris’ milestone birthday on Saturday night (November 8).

However, amongst all the A-listers, Meghan reportedly appeared “coy”.

This then led to Prince Harry stepping up to be her “personal bodyguard” of sorts during the birthday bash, a body language expert has claimed.

The expert said that Harry led his wife into the venue, with Meghan flashing a “gleeful” smile. The duke was wearing a classic black tuxedo with a white shirt. Meghan, meanwhile, was wearing long-sleeved black turtleneck top and a black maxi skirt that had a high thigh split.

Their appearance at the party came just days after it was claimed that Meghan is set to make a return to acting.

Speaking to the Daily Mail, body language expert Judi James offered some analysis on the couple’s behaviour at the bash.

She explained that Harry wanted to protect his wife from the paparazzi, adopting a “serious” approach.Kris Jenner smiling

Harry and Meghan’s behaviour at Kris Jenner’s party

Speaking to the publication, Judi said: “In star terms, this reflects her return to the big screen as an actress, while he seems to be back in ‘Spare’ mode here. Harry’s expressionless mode directs the attention to his wife here, although his ritual is one favoured by the likes of Travis Kelce, with the outstretched arm held behind and away from his torso to suggest muscle power, and with his hand gripped around Meghan’s in a similar ‘Big Paw’ Travis grasp that speaks of a desire to protect as they go past the press.”

When entering the event, Meghan walked in with “confidence,” knowing she was a big star.

“There are several rankings of A-list body language behaviour on arrival at a venue or party, and they vary between the Kim Kardashian ‘Solo Goddess’ camera-friendly look to an Adele ‘hiding my face with my bag’ pose that suggests she’s too cool and famous to need the publicity. A cut-off ritual like the lowered and hidden eyes suggests a coy lack of need to perform for the cameras, and it implies an assumption of rabid press interest rather than a courting of it,” she explained.

Meghan’s behaviour

Judi then continued, highlighting Meghan’s behaviour in comparison.

“But Meghan also performs a smile of utter delight here. Her cheeks are rounded, and her lips are hiked up high at the corners to create a symmetric shape,” she said. “A smile like this will be an acknowledgement to the fans and the cameras, but without any posing effort or showboating.”
