Prince William refuses offer on royal engagement as he admits he's 'on his best behaviour'
Prince William visited Mousehole Association Football Club to open a newly constructed access road
Prince William politely declined a glass of Cornish cider during a royal engagement at Mousehole Association Football Club on Thursday, November 13, joking that he was “on his best behaviour”.
The Prince of Wales, 43, was visiting the small club near Penzance to officially open a newly constructed access road to solve long-standing traffic issues in the area.

The pothole-ridden lane previously leading to the football ground had long been a headache for players, families, and fans alike.
William described the issue as a “grey area” that made securing funding difficult for the club. Determined to help, he brought together a team of individuals and businesses to back the construction of a brand-new road.
During his visit, he met local contractors and thanked them personally: “I really appreciate what you have done for the club and the community.”
The newly completed road has greatly improved access to the club’s facilities, encouraging greater community participation in football.
William also chatted with young players who had recently celebrated a stunning 13–0 win.
“If you win 13–0, you’re going to go a long way,” he told the team, as reported by GB News. He added that “enjoying the game” is what truly matters.
The visit was met with enthusiasm by local officials and club representatives.
Penzance Mayor Stephen Reynolds described the visit as “fantastic”.
Club rep Simon Taylor was equally impressed. He described the prince as “keen, enthused, and passionate”.
After the visit, Prince William shared a heartfelt message on X.
“Thank you to everyone in Mousehole for an incredible visit today and to all those who made the new road to this football club possible,” he wrote.
“You are a shining example of what can happen when people and businesses come together to create a team to help a community.”

Prince William’s special message
Meanwhile, earlier today (Friday, November 14), Prince William surprised BBC Radio 2’s Sara Cox with a heartfelt video message.
The presenter was nearing the end of her five-day marathon fundraiser for Children in Need.
“Sara, massive congratulations for what you’re doing. You’re so nearly there, just a little bit further. The nation’s so proud of you,” William said in the clip, cheering on Sara as she approached the finish line in Pudsey, Leeds.
Clearly touched, Sara replied live on air: “Wow, thanks, William. Thank you. Thanks so much.”
Her Great Northern Marathon Challenge involved running 135 miles across Northern England, the equivalent of five marathons in five days. She has so far raised over £6 million for children and young people.
Meanwhile, royal fans gushed over William’s sweet gesture.
“I can hardly wait until Prince William is crowned king!” One fan tweeted in response to the video. “Just sayin’! I love him.”
“Our ever–supportive Prince William,” another agreed.
