As Ever's 'beige' style slammed after Meghan Markle claimed she 'toned down' appearance for royal family
The duchess is plugging her As Ever Christmas rangeIn a fresh blow for Meghan Markle, she has been hit with backlash following her latest As Ever collection.

The brand has received criticism from fans for its unconventional take on Christmas décor.
Meghan Markle As Ever Christmas drop
Over the weekend, the Duchess of Sussex took to Instagram to plug As Ever’s new Christmas range.
The Holiday 2025 drop was announced last month, featuring a selection of festive goodies including mulling spice kits, warming herbal teas and two scented candles.
Gift sets of some of As Ever’s previous favourites are also available. The website goes on to tease that there is “more coming soon”.
In a new video posted to As Ever’s official Instagram account, Meghan, dressed in a brown satin gown, and could be seen popping a present into a beige and brown stocking hanging from a mantlepiece.
“Oh, we see you!” Meg captioned the clip, “Not even Thanksgiving yet and you’ve already got this in the bag.”

She’s clearly gone for an earthy colour palette, reflected both in her own outfit and the room’s decor.
Some fans seemed to be on board with Meghan’s vision.
“I love it, it’s giving chic country Christmas!” One person commented.
“Meghan’s As Ever brand is holiday glam!” A second agreed.
Another fan also remarked: “It’s very Texas/So Cal aesthetic to go with a more natural tone palette.”
However, it seems not everyone was a fan…
‘Nothing says Christmas like olive green and beige!’
“Where are the Christmas colours? Where is the festiveness? Where’s the ‘Merry and bright’?” quizzed one perplexed X user.
“This is bland, beige, boring browns. There is not one thing that says ‘holiday cheer’ in this clip. It’s depressing, unseasoned manila envelope drabness.”
“Is she living in a world without colour?” Someone else agreed, “Why can’t she have some red, a green more vibrant, I don’t know, maybe some yellow, something more cheerful. Poor kids, they must think that Christmas is a boring and dull celebration.”
“Nothing says Christmas like olive green and beige!” A third person added sarcastically.
A fourth likewise said: “The decorations come across as plain and don’t bring much festive warmth to the space. What happened to red, white & green?”
Somebody else pointed out: “Didn’t she complain about the blandness of the colour of the wardrobe she was required to wear as a Royal?”

In an episode of her 2022 Meghan & Harry Netflix series, the duchess bemoaned having to mute her wardrobe’s colour palette, dressing in camel, beige and white, to fit in with the Royal Family.
“I wore a lot of muted tones but it was also so I could just blend in,” she claimed. “I’m not trying to stand out here. There was no version of me joining this family and trying not to do everything I could to fit in. I don’t want to embarrass the family.”
