King Charles set for US trip 'next spring' hosted by Donald Trump if his health allows
President Donald Trump has reportedly extended the invite personally
King Charles is reportedly set to make a historic visit to the United States next spring to mark the country’s 250th anniversary, provided his ongoing health battle allows him to travel.
Plans are apparently underway for His Majesty to be hosted by US President Donald Trump for a formal state visit. It would reportedly include meetings, banquets, and commemorative events tied to celebrating the milestone.

King Charles and Queen Camilla ‘plan US trip for 2026’
According to The Sun, negotiations are progressing for the monarch to visit the White House in late April 2026.
Queen Camilla is also expected to join her husband for the multi-day visit. The trip would take place just ahead of America’s Independence Day on July 4.
One insider described the reported royal appearance as a “major moment” in the lead-up to the milestone celebrations.
The visit would be King Charles’ first official trip to the United States since 2018, when he represented Queen Elizabeth II at the funeral of former President George H. W. Bush.
While Buckingham Palace has not confirmed the trip, the king’s health reportedly remains a key factor.
Charles turned 77 earlier this month. However, he continues to receive treatment for a form of cancer that has not been publicly disclosed. Palace aides are reportedly expected to monitor his condition closely in the coming months before a final decision is made.
President Trump recently visited the UK for a second state visit in September. He is said to have extended the invitation personally.
During that trip, Trump and First Lady Melania Trump were hosted by the king and queen at Windsor Castle. The couple attended a ceremonial welcome and a formal state banquet.

Trump’s state visit to the UK
Trump spoke warmly of his time in Britain and of his interactions with King Charles.
“It was a really fantastic trip. The British know how to do this perfectly. They set the bar high for their trip to see us,” a White House official told The Telegraph.
The former president even joked during a speech at the Cornerstone Institute’s Founders’ Dinner in September that Charles should consider a new title.
“I asked King Charles, ‘Why don’t we call you Charles the Conqueror?'” Trump recalled. The king reportedly responded: “‘No, I don’t think so.'”
Speaking at an event earlier this year, King Charles praised the alliance between Britain and the US, calling it a “special relationship”.
“I have always admired the ingenuity of the American people and the principles of freedom, which your great democracy has represented since its inception,” the king said. “From my very first visit to the United States in 1970, I have cherished a close tie between the British and American people.”
While plans for the spring state visit are still reportedly in development, The Telegraph also reported that the invitation could, alternatively, be extended to Prince William and Kate, Princess of Wales, if King Charles’s health prevents him from travelling.
In addition to the potential US trip, the king is also scheduled to undertake a royal tour of Canada in 2026, as well as a visit to Antigua and Barbuda for the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting that same year.
