Prince Philip's savage 'reaction' to Prince Harry's engagement to Meghan Markle
The late prince was known for his brutal honesty...Prince Philip reportedly had a blunt reaction to the news of Meghan and Harry’s engagement, it has been claimed.
According to a recent royal book, the late royal, who died in 2021, gave his grandson a stark warning ahead of his marriage.
Prince Philip’s alleged remarks were reportedly revealed in Andrew Lownie’s book, Entitled: The Rise and Fall of the House of York.
The tell-all book, published earlier this year, focuses on the disgraced Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and his ex-wife Sarah Ferguson.
However, it also appears to make some bombshell claims about other members of the royal family.

What did Prince Philip think about Prince Harry’s engagement?
As per the Daily Mail, the author claims Prince Philip was reluctant for Meghan Markle to join the royal family.
As Prince Harry announced his plans to wed the Suits star in November 2017, following their whirlwind romance, his grandfather, remembered for many controversial quips, reportedly told him: “One steps out with actresses, one doesn’t marry them.”
Other royal biographies seem to have concurred with this account of Prince Philip’s lukewarm feelings towards Meghan.
Grant Harrold, who served as a royal butler for many years, made a similar claim in his own memoir, The Royal Butler: My Remarkable Life of Royal Service.
One steps out with actresses, one doesn’t marry them.
Casting his mind back to the Sussexes’ 2018 wedding at St George’s Chapel, Windsor, Grant claims: “When Prince Philip came out, he turned to the queen and said, ‘Thank [bleep] that’s over.’
“It was very funny,” he continued, according to the Daily Mail. “I think he was speaking for the majority of people, who were wondering what it was all about and when it was going to end. But he was the man who actually said it.”

Harry and Meghan family news
Regardless of Prince Philip’s alleged feelings, the couple of course went ahead and tied the knot in May 2018.
They have since welcomed two children, Archie, six, and Lilibet, four. The family now live in Montecito, California, after Harry and Meghan quit as working royals in 2020.
While the Duke and Duchess of Sussex prefer to keep their kids out of the limelight, Meghan did recently share a cute update on Archie and Lili.
In a trailer promoting an upcoming festive episode of her With Love, Meghan cooking show, she gave a sneak peek of the little ones’ Christmas list.
“We have been good,” the pair write in their letter. They go on to share a wish for “Santa to travel safely,” before signing off the note “XO Archie & Lili”.
