Kate Middleton reunited with a familiar face at the Together at Christmas carol service, Canadian actor Eugene Levy, who couldn’t help but reminisce about the “lovely day” he spent filming with Prince William.

The Schitt’s Creek star, 78, was among the surprise guests at Westminster Abbey on December 5 for the Princess of Wales’ fifth annual carol service.

The event celebrated “love in all its forms”. It brought together over 1,600 guests and members of the royal family, including Kate, Prince William, and their three children.

Just weeks earlier, Levy had filmed a memorable segment with Prince William for his Apple TV+ series The Reluctant Traveler.

The pair shared a pint at the Two Brewers pub in Windsor and even toured Windsor Castle together, a day the actor described as “memorable” and “lovely”.

At the carol service, Levy had the chance to meet Princess Kate for the first time. The pair immediately hit it off.

In an exclusive video shared by HELLO!, the Princess of Wales and the Canadian actor were seen chatting.

“Lovely to meet you,” Levy said warmly, rising from his seat to shake her hand.

Kate greeted him with a smile: “You know my husband very well now.”

Levy responded: “I spent a lovely day with your husband.”

“I hope he looked after you,” the princess teased.

“He did look after me, yes, he did,” Levy replied.

It was a memorable day, that’s for sure.

The conversation quickly turned to another royal family member, their dog, Orla.

“And you got to meet our dog,” Kate noted.

Levy smiled and said: “I’m a bit of a dog whisperer myself. But the cookies helped.” He then asked if William had enjoyed their time together. Kate confirmed he had, replying: “He did.”

“It was a memorable day, that’s for sure,” Levy concluded.

Prince William and Eugene Levy’s bond

Levy’s episode with Prince William aired in October.

The Prince of Wales gave the actor a candid glimpse into royal life, and opened up emotionally about how 2024 had been “the hardest year I’ve ever had,” following the cancer diagnoses of both his father, King Charles and his wife Kate.

Speaking to Levy, William revealed: “Stuff to do with family overwhelms me quite a bit. When it’s to do with family and things like that, that’s where I start getting a bit overwhelmed. As I think most people would.”

The segment received praise for its warmth and vulnerability, showing a glimpse of William as both a public figure and devoted family man.

Kate’s Christmas carol service

Hosted at Westminster Abbey and supported by The Royal Foundation, Together at Christmas brought a mix of royals, celebrities, and community heroes together for an evening of music, readings, and reflection.

Princess Kate was joined by Prince William, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, all dressed in coordinating holiday outfits.

The event featured readings by stars like Kate Winslet, Joe Locke, and Chiwetel Ejiofor, alongside live performances.

This year’s theme honoured those who show compassion, care, and kindness in their communities.
