Royal watchers were left gushing over a sweet moment between Prince Louis and his mum, Kate, Princess of Wales, at the Together at Christmas carol service.

The seven-year-old royal melted hearts as he shared a loving exchange with the Princess of Wales during the festive service at Westminster Abbey on Friday, December 5.

The special evening marked the fifth year of Kate’s annual Christmas celebration. It was attended by members of the royal family and over 1,600 guests.

A photograph captured the Princess of Wales leaning in toward her youngest child with a wide smile as they both held lit candles.

Prince Louis gazed up at her with admiration, a look of pure love on his face.

Royal fans were quick to notice the emotional connection. One user posted the image on X (formerly Twitter), alongside two older snaps of Louis looking up adoringly at his mum, one from last year’s carol service, and another from King Charles’ coronation.

“Little Louis is always in awe of his mama. As are we,” the user captioned.

Fans gushed over the heartwarming photos.

“This is gorgeous!” One wrote.

“That’s so precious!” Another agreed.

“The total love and trust in Louis’ expression, so heartwarming to see,” a third fan mused. “Catherine is such a good mum.”

Prince Louis wasn’t the only young royal in the spotlight. He was joined by his siblings, Prince George and Princess Charlotte, along with their father, Prince William.

The entire Wales family coordinated in a classic palette of navy and forest green. Kate stunned in a green, fur-lined coat. Meanwhile, Charlotte wore a navy dress with a frilly white collar, and the boys looked dapper in tailored suits.

Together at Christmas service

This year’s Together at Christmas service carried a poignant theme: “Love in all its forms.”

The Princess of Wales led the event with support from The Royal Foundation. Readings were given by a star-studded line-up including Prince William, Kate Winslet, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Babátúndé Aléshé and Heartstopper star Joe Locke.

The event brought together individuals from across the UK who have dedicated their time to supporting others.

Princess Charlotte also drew attention, with many commenting on her resemblance to her late grandmother, Princess Diana.

“She has her grandmother’s stare. Beautiful and poised young lady,” one admirer wrote.

“Princess Charlotte looks exactly like her grandmother, the late and beautiful Diana,” another echoed.

Others, however, voiced concern over her not wearing a coat in the chilly December air.

“They look amazing, but… why isn’t Princess Charlotte wearing a coat? Isn’t she cold?” one fan asked.

Inside the Abbey, George, Charlotte and Louis each wrote their names on tags before tying them to the “connection tree”. The tree was adorned with paper chains bearing guests’ names.

Guests in attendance included Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh, Zara and Mike Tindall, and Kate’s parents, Carole and Michael Middleton.

King Charles, Queen Camilla, Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice were noticeably absent.
