Prince William's subtle 'signal' to Princess Kate spotted by fans during German state visit
"I love their secret codes," one royal fan gushedRoyal fans reckon they spotted a secret signal between Prince William and his wife, Kate, during the recent German state visit.
Last week, the king and queen hosted German president Frank-Walter Steinmeier and First Lady Elke Büdenbender at Windsor Castle, the first German state visit to the UK in 27 years.
Upon their arrival on Wednesday (December 3), the special guests received a ceremonial welcome from the royal family. This included a carriage procession, Guard of Honour inspection and military march past.
Later on, they enjoyed a lavish state banquet in Windsor Castle’s grand St George’s Hall.

Prince William’s ‘secret signal’ to Kate
The special guests were also treated to a tour of an exhibition of items relating to Germany from the Royal Collection, in the Green Drawing Room at Windsor Castle.
It was here that the Prince of Wales appeared to have a coded exchange with his wife, to signal that she should wrap things up.
In footage of the tour, shared by Hello! Magazine, the Princess of Wales can be seen in deep discussion about a certain exhibit. A few moments later, Prince William appears to place a gentle hand on her back, to which she promptly took the cue to move on to the next exhibit, bidding her farewells to the person she was talking to and making space for Prince Edward.

‘I love their secret codes’
The clip has since gained a great deal of attention on social media, with many royal fans stepping in to comment on the couple’s subtle signal.
“I love their secret codes and I love Princess Catherine who truly loves her engagement with everyone,” one person commented.
Subtle, quietly signalling, that we need to spend time with everybody equally.
Another person likewise said: “Subtle, quietly signalling, that we need to spend time with everybody equally.”
“Beautiful couple, in sync in every way,” gushed a third.
Meanwhile, for others, Prince William’s move was all too familiar.
“He is like all our husbands when we get too chatty,” one fan joked.
“My husband does this to me all the time,” somebody else agreed.
In his royal book, Elizabeth, author Gyles Brandreth claims that Queen Camilla employs a similar tactic with King Charles.
“When he is running late or talking too much, she tugs discreetly at the back of his jacket, sometimes quite vigorously,” he writes, as per The Express.
