King Charles set to 'fly more than 15,000 miles on overseas tours next year' after cancer update
Exciting news!Amid his recent positive cancer news, King Charles reportedly has plans to fly more than 15,000 miles on overseas tours next year.
On Friday evening (December 12), the monarch shared the “good news” that his cancer treatment will soon be reduced.

King Charles’ cancer latest
Last week, King Charles delivered a deeply personal message about his experience living with cancer. The special televised broadcast aired at 8pm on Channel 4 as part of this year’s Stand Up To Cancer campaign. It was reportedly recorded two weeks ago at Clarence House.
My own schedule of cancer treatment can be reduced in the new year.
Encouraging the public to attend cancer screenings, the king said: “Early diagnosis quite simply saves lives. Now, I have heard this message repeatedly during my visits to cancer centres across the country. I know, too, what a difference it has made in my own case, enabling me to continue leading a full and active life, even while undergoing treatment.”
He then continued: “Indeed, today I am able to share with you the good news that thanks to early diagnosis, effective intervention and adherence to ‘doctors’ orders,’ my own schedule of cancer treatment can be reduced in the new year.”
“This milestone is both a personal blessing and a testimony to the remarkable advances that have been made in cancer care in recent years;” he added, “testimony that I hope may give encouragement to the 50% of us who will be diagnosed with the illness at some point in our lives”.
It marked one of the most candid updates yet from the monarch since revealing his diagnosis in February 2024.
King Charles also promoted Cancer Research UK’s new online screening tool. The charity have since revealed that they received a significant spike in traffic following the king’s message.

2026 royal tours
According to The Sun, the frequency of the 77-year-old’s treatment, which he previously received “weekly”, will be cut “significantly”.
As a result, it appears King Charles already has many more travel plans in the calendar for the coming year.
In 2025, he only made three trips abroad: two to Italy and one to Canada. In 2026, he will reportedly make big journeys to both the US and the Caribbean, accompanied by his wife Queen Camilla.
The couple’s first overseas engagement of the year will be a return visit to Donald Trump in April, after hosting the US President at Windsor Castle earlier this year. This trip will coincide with next year’s 250th anniversary of American independence.
Later on in the year, in November, the king and queen will reportedly also fly to Antigua and Barbuda, for the biennial Commonwealth Heads of Government summit.
