Lady Louise Windsor, the daughter of Prince Edward and Duchess Sophie, was reportedly spotted sitting on a packed train floor over the weekend.

The 17th in line to the throne, rumoured to have been the late Queen Elizabeth II’s favourite granddaughter, was photographed cross-legged on the ground of a crowded train carriage.

Lady Louise Windsor spotted on train

According to the Daily Mail, the royal was travelling on board a busy Great Western Railways service out of London.

She apparently seemed unfazed by the less-than-comfortable hour and a half journey with no seat, working on her laptop and sipping a PG Tips tea. Dressed in jeans with her hair in a ponytail, she appeared just like any other student on their Christmas holidays.

Lady Louise Windsor, 22, is currently a student at the University of St Andrews, where the Prince and Princess of Wales also both studied and first met. Now in the fourth and final year of her English degree, she will likely graduate next summer.

Alongside her academics, she also reportedly works a student job, as well as taking part in various extracurricular activities. These include being a cadet in the University Officer Training Corps and performing in student theatre productions.

Royal author, Ingrid Seward, previously described Louise as “very polite,” writing that she has “always been an asset” to the royal family.

While Louise and her younger brother James are first cousins of Princes William and Harry and Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie, they use the titles Lady and Earl of Wessex respectively. This is because their parents, the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh, decided they would not be born a prince and princess.

The couple previously shared the reason behind this decision, explaining that they wanted to raise their children “with the understanding that they are very likely to have to work for a living”.

‘A natural born princess’

As the recent photos of Lady Louise appeared on social media, many royal fans praised the down-to-earth young royal.

“She is giving off Anne vibes….” One person likened her to the Princess Royal, followed by a clapping emoji.

Somebody else commented: “She seems very much like her parents. Quietly doing their duty everyday with little to no fanfare. Quiet and respectful.”

A third person likewise gushed: “Lady Louise is in all essences a natural born princess, even if her parents chose not to take up titles for their children. A true princess has grace.”

“Lady Louise is a born princess who never has used her title,” agreed a fourth. “Normal student at university. I bet everybody likes her.”
