How Princess Kate is expected to honour her family roots with discrete gesture on Christmas Day
A beautiful tribute to the late Princess of Wales
Princess Kate Middleton is known for her thoughtful style. The princess is said to put consideration into her outfits, with the colours and history of the garments and accessories, often holding symboling meaning.
So, of course, Christmas Day is the perfect time for Kate to share a heartfelt, yet still discrete, message as she is photographed out and about with her family at Sandringham on their annual Christmas Day walkabout.
And this year, the princess is expected to pay tribute to her family roots again.

Princess Kate Middleton expected to ‘honour’ her family
Tobias Kormind, Managing Director of Europe’s largest online diamond jeweller 77 Diamonds has predicted how Princess Kate Middleton will honour her family roots, like she has previously honoured Princess Diana, on Christmas Day.
He mused: “Reflecting tradition, the Princess of Wales can be expected to keep her jewellery discreet and understated for the annual Christmas morning walk at Sandringham.
“Last year, the Princess of Wales opted for a pair of blue topaz and diamond earrings that beautifully complemented her blue sapphire engagement ring, which once belonged to her late mother-in-law, Diana, Princess of Wales.
“This year, it is likely she will choose a pair of gemstone earrings. Or perhaps a diamond and pearl brooch like she wore in 2015, paying homage to her family roots.
“Such subtle choices would align perfectly with her refined approach to royal dressing and her respect for longstanding festive tradition.”
Princess Kate channelled Princess Diana’s Christmas Day style
Princess Kate hasn’t just channelled Princess Diana’s style through jewellery over the years.
In fact, she has previously recreated one of Princess Diana’s most notable Christmas Day outfits.
Princess Diana wore a string of black and red ensembles on Christmas Day with the royals over the years.
Including in 1985, when she rocked a red military-inspired Piero de Monzi coat with black buttons.
Diana complemented the striking coat with a black hat by milliner Marina Killery and a black hand muff.
In 2006, Princess Kate wore a comparable outfit, made up of a sweeping red coat and a statement black hat.
She wore the nostalgic look as she visited Sandhurst Sovereign’s Parade alongside Prince William.
Just last month, Princess Kate paid tribute to Diana with special accessories as she attended the National Service of Remembrance on Sunday, November 9, at the Cenotaph on Whitehall.
Princess Kate wore Diana’s Collingwood pearl drop earrings. The set belong personally to her and not the royal family.

How will the royal family spend Christmas?
Following tradition, the Waleses will join the rest of the royal family at Sandringham over Christmas, staying there until New Year.
Akin to previous years, the royal family are expected to exchange gifts on Christmas Eve before enjoying an evening meal together.
On Christmas Day they will gather at St Magdalene’s Church for a morning service. They then traditionally enjoy a walkabout around the estate.
They then sit down for Christmas dinner together at Sandringham House. The family are also said to have afternoon tea later in the day.
Boxing day is said to be spent on a pheasant shoot. The family also unwind with TV and games, as per reports.
