Gesture made to Prince William and George as they visit The Passage charity ahead of Christmas
What a special visitA thoughtful gesture was made to Princes William and George as they visited homelessness charity The Passage last week.
Prince George, who turned 12 over the summer, followed in the footsteps of his father, Prince William, and his late grandmother, Princess Diana, as he helped to prepare a Christmas lunch with The Passage, which works to prevent homelessness.
As George becomes older, it seems his parents are getting him more involved in the work the royal family do.

Prince George visits The Passage with dad William
The Prince and Princess of Wales shared a video of the special visit to their official YouTube channel.
The father and son can be seen decorating a Christmas tree, laying tables and setting out food alongside other volunteers.
One clip also revealed a sweet gesture that had been made ahead of the princes’ arrival.
Both had big grins as they were shown the Christmas crackers for the meal: Aston Villa themed, in honour of the football team they support.
The Passage’s Chief Executive, Mick Clarke, said of thoughtful touch, as per the Daily Mail: “George is a Villa fan. And, yeah, for my sins, I support Tottenham. So I was in no real position to joke about it.”
“I was mercilessly teased by the elder, by William, which tends to be a bit of a pattern,” he added. “There is a lot of banter that goes on, which is great because I think he feels very, very relaxed here.”
He also sang the praises of the young prince, saying: “He was well up for it. Absolutely. Very much like his dad in terms of he just wanted to crack on, which was lovely.”

George follows in Princess Diana’s footsteps
A further Instagram post shared by the Prince and Princess of Wales’ account reminded royal fans of the royal family’s connection to The Passage.
They shared two photos taken 32 years apart, the first of the late Princess Diana and a young Prince William helping The Passage chefs prepare their Christmas meal back in December 1993, and the second from Prince William and Prince George’s visit this Christmas season. A third moving snap showed the charity’s visitors book signed by all three generations.
Diana and William’s signatures were signed when they visited in 1993, while George’s read: “George. 16th December 2025.”
‘How special that moment must have been for William’
Many royal fans were left feeling emotional by the post.
“Princess Diana would be so proud of you both carrying on her legacy,” one person commented.
“How beautiful to have that continuing connection with mum/Grandma,” another person agreed.
A third person also said poignantly: “We can connect our mothers and our children, even when they have never met.”
Another fan likewise added: “Crying at the page with 3 generations of signatures… how special that moment must have been for William.”
