Kate Middleton's 'apology' over Prince George to well-wishers on Christmas Day
How times have changed!Kate Middleton once reportedly issued an apology to Christmas Day well-wishers over her son Prince George.
In 2014, members of the public who had come to greet the royals on their way to a Christmas church service at Sandringham were disappointed to find out that William and Kate had left their young son at home.
At the time, George was just one.

Kate Middleton ‘apologises’ for Prince George absence
Back in 2014, many royal fans headed to the Sandringham Estate on Christmas Day, eager to meet the royal family’s newest addition: the then 17-month-old Prince George.
They were therefore surprised to spot the now Prince and Princess of Wales childless on their walk from their country home of Anmer Hall to the St. Mary Magdalene Church, both on the Sandringham Estate.
Both Prince William and Princess Kate explained the reasons behind their son’s absence, and apologised to well-wishers for any disappointment. They also shared a sweet update on little Prince George.
I’m sorry we didn’t bring George but you would have heard him in the church.
One woman who had come to see the royal family on their Christmas Day walkabout told the Mirror: “William said Prince George was doing really well and that they’ve left him at the nursery because it was a bit cold but that they were looking forward to going back to see what destruction he’s created.”
“They said George was having a lovely day,” she also added.
Princess Kate likewise told an eight-year-old girl, who had brought along a milky bar selection box as a gift for Prince George: “I’m sorry we didn’t bring George but you would have heard him in the church.”
Another royal fan also told the newspaper: “I wanted to come to see Kate. I told her she looked beautiful and she said thank you and she feels big. She doesn’t look it.”
At the time, Princess Kate was five months pregnant with her and Prince William’s second child. Princess Charlotte was born the following May.

Prince Harry joined royal family at Sandringham
Prince George was not the only absentee from the annual Sandringham walkabout. Queen Camilla also reportedly skipped the Christmas Day church service that year due to a bad back.
Meanwhile, Prince William was said to be nursing a bad foot, which put him out of action for a Christmas Eve football match.
However, six years before his move to the US, Prince Harry was at Sandringham celebrating with his royal relatives.
He reportedly asked well-wishers if they were able to hear the Christmas carols in the church, joking that he hoped they didn’t hear his “horrendous” singing.
