How Prince William will earn a staggering £22.9m this year
Prince William is set to earn a jaw-dropping sum
Prince William is set to earn an extraordinary $30.9 million this year through his role as the Duke of Cornwall, according to the latest Integrated Impact Report from the Duchy of Cornwall estate.
The annual report was released earlier this year. As reported by PEOPLE, it revealed a distributable surplus of £22.9 million (around $30.9 million USD) for the 2024–2025 financial year.

Prince William’s $30m salary ‘revealed’
Now in his second full year overseeing the Duchy, William has stepped fully into the role he inherited from his father, King Charles, in 2022.
The Duchy of Cornwall is a royal estate spanning 130,000 acres across 23 counties in England and Wales. It is valued at over $1 billion. It was originally established in 1337 by King Edward III to financially support the heir to the throne.
Since assuming the position, Prince William has been praised by royal sources for “fully immersing himself” in the estate’s management and mission.
Unlike salaried roles, members of the working royal family do not receive traditional incomes. Instead, William’s expenses are funded by the Duchy.
The income supports a wide range of costs. These include the family’s household needs, staff, travel, charitable commitments, and the Prince and Princess of Wales’s royal duties.
It is understood that William pays income tax on the amount he receives, after accounting for official and domestic expenses. However, the exact figures remain confidential.

Prince William’s estate and the Duchy of Cornwall
Over the past year, William has taken an active role in overseeing and expanding the estate’s goals.
The Duchy’s latest report highlighted its ongoing work to help people, support local communities, and protect the environment. It is still aiming to become a net-zero estate by 2032.
Recent steps toward that goal include creating 400 hectares of new wildlife habitat, restoring peatlands on Dartmoor, and improving farming methods. One of its farms has already reached net zero emissions.
In addition to its environmental work, the Duchy has doubled down on addressing social issues within its communities.
It is working on a large affordable housing development in South East Faversham, Kent, which is expected to provide nearly 1,000 new homes. The estate also hopes to offer mental health support for people living and working in its rural communities.
William’s role as Duke of Cornwall also brings with it growing influence within the wider royal institution. Over the past year, he has taken on a number of leadership roles that reflect his evolving position as future king.
These include becoming patron of The Football Association, a role previously held by Queen Elizabeth II. In addition, he now serves as president of the Victoria Cross and George Cross Association.
The Duchy of Cornwall is a historic estate. But under Prince William’s leadership, it’s also becoming a modern organisation focused on positive change. Since Prince George is expected to take over the Duchy in the future, William’s leadership is helping shape a new path for the next generation.
