King Charles and Prince William's 'visits to America tipped to be two-pronged attack' after Kate 'charmed' Trump

The royal family is expected to double down on its global influence this year, and all eyes are on King Charles, Queen Camilla, Prince William and Kate Middleton as they reportedly prepare for a pivotal visit to the US.

There’s been claims that the king and queen as well as the Prince and Princess of Wales could visit the US this year to mark the 250th anniversary of American independence. However, no trips have yet been confirmed.

Former royal butler Paul Burrell claims any trips, if they do go ahead, will serve as a carefully coordinated “two-pronged attack,” placing William and Kate at the heart of the monarchy’s international strategy.

Speaking exclusively to OLBG, Burrell suggested that King Charles is leaning on the younger royals to secure the monarchy’s future both at home and abroad.

King Charles and Prince William set for America visit

“He knows they are the most important and most powerful armour in his arsenal,” Burrell said of William and Kate. “He’s going to rely on them to pincer his visit to America. It’ll be a two-pronged attack.”

According to Burrell, the king and queen would travel to the US first. This would set the stage for a follow-up tour by William and Kate that, he believes, will “totally eclipse” any lingering presence of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle in the American spotlight.

The rumours come after Kate’s memorable encounter with US President Donald Trump.

Back in September, Trump joined the Prince and Princess of Wales, King Charles, and Queen Camilla for a state banquet at Windsor Castle during his historic second UK state visit.

During his speech, the president praised Princess Kate as “so radiant and so healthy and so beautiful”. Seated next to Kate, Trump appeared “charmed”, and photos of the two beaming at one another quickly circulated online.

“She charmed him,” Burrell said. “And he’ll never forget that. We’re dealing with a president who has a huge ego, so you’re going to have to stroke that ego. Nobody does it better than the royal family.”

Meghan to ‘launch herself back into acting’

While William and Kate may be preparing to win hearts across the Atlantic, Burrell also weighed in on whether the Sussexes might make a return to the UK.

“I did think for a short time they might buy a house in the Cotswolds,” he admitted. “But I’ve changed my mind because I think Meghan is a wise woman. She realises that she’s not that popular in Britain.”

Burrell didn’t mince words when it came to Meghan’s public perception.

“People realise Meghan could be the instigator of all Harry’s problems,” he said. He added that while Harry still carries “some appeal” as Princess Diana’s son and Prince William’s brother, Meghan remains “a different kettle of fish”.

Instead, Burrell believes Meghan is staying firmly planted in Montecito.

Looking ahead, Burrell predicts 2026 will be far from quiet for the Duchess of Sussex. “She’ll launch herself back into an acting career, and she will launch herself into cosmetics and fashion wear,” he said. “There’s nowhere that Meghan couldn’t succeed. I wish her well.”

Whether the Sussexes re-emerge in Britain or not, it’s clear the monarchy is betting big on the Waleses.
