A sweet story has emerged demonstrating just how close Prince George is to his grandmother Carole Middleton.

The future king is even said to enjoy shopping trips with his grandmother. And they are definitely a wholesome step away from royal life.

Prince George’s quality time with Carole Middleton

According to The Times‘ profile on Princess Kate ahead of her birthday on Friday, Prince George enjoys quality time with his grandmother Carole.

And this quality time is teaching him how to run errands.

During an engagement to mark the late Queen Elizabeth II’s passing last September, Prince William and Kate met members from a local Women’s Institute (WI) group in Sunningdale, Ascot.

There, Sally Pellow revealed she had once served Princess Kate in a French Connection shop in Reading.

Five years ago, Sally brushed shoulders with royalty again, when she spotted Prince George in a local interior design shop.

“I had popped in to pick up some wallpaper samples and Prince George had gone in with his granny, Carole Middleton,” Sally Pellow said at the time.

“He was beautifully dressed and sitting at a desk eating bits of orange.”

The WI group even pointed out Prince George’s sensible behaviour when out in public.

At this, Prince William joked that “behind closed doors it’s a completely different ball game”.

Reports claim that when George, Charlotte and Louis were younger, Carole and Michael Middleton would split duties with the children’s royal nanny, Maria Teresa Turrion Borrallo.

In recent years, the couple have also said to have supported their daughter immensely amid her battle with cancer.

How the Middleton’s have supported Princess Kate and family

Royal expert Katie Nicholl said of Kate’s parents amid her battle with cancer: “Carol and Michael, they’ve always been an incredibly strong couple and also very down to earth… what they’ll be doing right now is they’ll be coming together and supporting her — and not just William and Kate, [but] their grandchildren, too.”

And this sentiment was reflected by Princess Kate’s September 2024 video update.

In it she shared an insight into her health journey and announced that her chemotherapy treatment had come to an end.

The touching video narrated by Princess Kate was made up of footage of her and her family, including Carole and Michael Middleton playing a card game with George, Charlotte and Louis – indicating the quality time they have spent together lately.

Prince George praised for mature behaviour

In recent weeks Prince George has garnered attention again for his sensible demeanour.

The young royal was widely commented on as he stepped out with his royal relatives at Sandringham on Christmas Day.

There, he greeted bystanders and even graciously accepted presents from eager royal fans.

One bystander told HELLO! of George: “He displayed a quiet confidence and maturity. It’s crazy to think that he’ll be a teenager when he does this next year.”
