When Meghan Markle could make a return to UK 'revealed'

"It is not going to be as simple as turning up and seeing King Charles"

One royal commentator has suggested we may not see Meghan Markle return to the UK until next year.

Meghan, 44, has rarely returned to Britain since moving to the US in 2020. She and husband Prince Harry moved to America after stepping away from their senior royal roles.

When they moved to the US, their automatic full police protection was downgraded. In an interview last year, after losing a court appeal over the decision, Harry said: “I can’t see a world in which I will be bringing my wife and children back to the UK. They’re going to miss everything, I love my country. I miss the UK, I miss parts of the UK.”

But could that change next year?

Prince Harry’s security ‘under review’

Recent reports claimed that Prince Harry’s security in the UK is being reviewed.

The Sun reported that the Home Office had ordered a reassessment of the duke’s threat level. A decision will be made this month.

If the Sussexes’ security does change back, does that mean we could see Meghan come over to Britain with Harry and their children, Archie and Lilibet.

I cannot see Meghan coming to Britain before the Invictus Games.

It’s believed that King Charles hasn’t seen his grandchildren, Archie and Lilibet, in person since June 2022 during the late Queen Elizabeth II’s platinum jubilee celebrations.

Meghan then returned to the UK in September of 2022 for the late queen’s funeral. However, since then, she hasn’t joined Harry on his solo trips.

Will Meghan Markle return to the UK?

Royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams has said that additional security for when Meghan is in the UK could “open the door” to a return to Britain for her.

However, there reportedly is a dilemma. Mr Fitzwilliams told GB News: “It would open the door, but if you look at the polls, her (Meghan’s) ratings are absolutely terrible. She is not popular with the British public.

“Then there is the case that she does not appear to have any affection for Britain. That has never manifested itself. I cannot see Meghan coming to Britain before the Invictus Games because what would she do and why would she come?

Prince Harry’s Invictus Games next year

The Duke of Sussex’s Invictus Games will take place in Birmingham, UK, next year.

Last year, it was announced that the games, which is a multi-sport event for wounded, injured, and sick servicemen and women, both serving and veterans, are set to be held at Birmingham’s NEC from July 12 to 17, 2027.

Reports at the time claimed that Harry had invited his family to the games. However, it’s unclear if they will accept his invitation.
