Prince William and Kate Middleton know there may be ‘trouble ahead’

There’s been many rumours that Harry and Meghan could return to the UK at some point this year. Sources are suggesting it could be for an Invictus Games event in the summer, which will mark one year until the 2027 games taking place in Birmingham, UK.

Harry launched his Invictus Games in 2014. The games is a multi-sport event for wounded, injured and sick military service personnel, both serving and veterans. Meghan has previously attended the games and events relating to them.

Meanwhile, sources recently claimed that Harry would love to open the 2027 Invictus Games with his father, King Charles.

Amid the rumours of the Sussexes coming back to Britain, Prince William and Kate have reportedly hired a crisis management expert.

It comes at a time when Harry and Meghan’s relationship with his family remains strained following years of tell-all interviews and damning allegations about the monarchy.

According to the Mail on Sunday, the royal couple have employed Liza Ravenscroft, who has a background in crisis management.

She was reportedly recommended to the couple by Julian Payne, a former communications secretary to King Charles and Queen Camilla.

“It is unlikely to be a coincidence that one of his most senior and respected members of staff has taken a key role in William’s office after a period of turmoil – and when they are looking for closer alignment between Kensington Palace and Buckingham Palace as minds turn to William’s eventual succession,” a source claimed.

However, a source has claimed that Ravenscroft is working in a “non-crisis” PR role for the Kensington Palace press team.

Prince William and Kate ‘hire crisis management expert’

Now, Richard Eden, the Daily Mail‘s royal commentator and Diary Editor, speculated that the hiring of a crisis management expert could suggest that William and Catherine “know that there may be trouble ahead”.

He added that the latest stories about the Sussexes making a return to the UK “serve to put pressure on the king and the rest of the royal family to roll out the red carpet for the Sussexes, even though the California-based couple have never apologised for their disgraceful attacks”.

He also claimed that this “PR offensive is part of the establishment ‘plot’” which allegedly aims to restore the Sussexes to the “affections of the British public”.

“So, while Liza Ravenscroft’s new role at Kensington Palace may be a ‘non-crisis’ one for now, it might not be long before she needs all the skills she acquired while dealing with disasters in the corporate world,” he concluded.

Prince Harry’s imminent ‘return to the UK’

Meanwhile, next week could see Prince Harry make a return to his homeland.

The Duke of Sussex will reportedly travel solo, where he will be giving evidence in a High Court case against the publisher of the Daily Mail. It’s part of an ongoing privacy lawsuit involving several celebrity claimants, including Sir Elton John and Liz Hurley.

It’s reportedly set to begin on Monday, January 19.

However, if he does make a return to the UK, Prince Harry reportedly won’t visit his family.

The king will be up in Scotland on his post-Christmas break. Meanwhile, William and Kate will be travelling to Scotland too next week for some royal engagements.
