Brooklyn Beckham could face same 'devastating' fate as Prince Harry following 'brutal' attack on his family
Brooklyn dropped a bombshell about his famous family earlier this week
Brooklyn Beckham exposed his bubbling family feud that has caused swirling speculation in a tell-all social media post this week, and comparisons are being made to Prince Harry.
In his surprise statement shared to Instagram, Brooklyn said he didn’t wish for reconciliation with his allegedly “controlling” family.
The move has been compared to Prince Harry, who also spoke out against his high-profile family in tell-all interviews and his memoir, Spare.
And although it seems both men are eager to distance themselves from their famous relatives, this might not turn out well for Brooklyn.
If Harry’s is anything to go by, Brooklyn Beckham could be in for a difficult journey, claims royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams.
Brooklyn Beckham and Prince Harry could endure similar journeys
Richard, who has observed and commented on the royals for over twenty years, explains that Brooklyn’s “brutal” public takedown of his family could leave his loved ones totally lacking trust.
A similar result to Prince Harry’s own scenario, leaving Brooklyn out in the cold if he ever does have a change of heart.
Richard exclusively talked Royal Insider through the similarities Harry and Brooklyn share. And these comparisons are pretty eye-opening!
“The image of Harry and his brother walking behind his mother’s coffin after Princess Diana’s tragic death is seared into the nation’s memory,” Richard said of Prince Harry’s experience in the limelight from a very young age.
Brooklyn shared a similar upbringing, with his image appearing on the front cover of magazines at just months old.
Both Harry and Brooklyn were exposed to the spotlight before they could understand the weight it held.
The glare of publicity shone on Brooklyn and Harry from an early age
Speaking of Brooklyn, Richard said: “He has grown up in glare of publicity. And, now we learn, he has also been far from happy.”
Brooklyn took to his Instagram earlier this week to state he no longer wished to be in contact with his parents.
He wrote: “I have been silent for years and made every effort to keep these matters private.
“Unfortunately my parents and their team have continued to go to the press, leaving me with no choice but to speak for myself and tell the truth about only some of the lies that have been printed.”
He went on to say: “I do not want to reconcile with my family. I’m not being controlled, I’m standing up for myself for the first time in my life.
“For my entire life, my parents have controlled narratives in the press about our family.
“The performative social media posts, family events and inauthentic relationships have been a fixture of the life I was born into.”
Both Harry and Brooklyn used their platforms
Both Brooklyn and Harry have chosen to use their overly-exposed platforms to share the difficulties they have endured within their family dynamics.
Thus, breaking the illusions that their respective families have allegedly built. Shattering the persona of a flawless and harmonious family life.
Richard explained: “Both of them, in their separate ways, have had seismic, public breaks with their parents. Using the media on which they heavily rely to strike brutal blows at the images so carefully created by courtiers and public relations experts.”
“Brooklyn’s Instagram attack was amazing for its ferocity in claiming he and in particular his wife Nicola had become victims of the Beckham obsession with public image,” Richard went on to say.
Harry and Brooklyn exposed their families in jaw-dropping public displays
Richard added: “Brooklyn’s belief that only after his attack on his parents is he now free has echoes in Harry’s admissions of trauma in his memoir Spare. Which, following his mothers tragic death, claimed that he needed therapy to cope with [his grief] and that courtiers appeared to be involved in briefings against him or denied him support when he and Meghan faced difficulties.”
Richard highlighted: “The publicity given to Brooklyn’s statement has been and will be accompanied by huge amounts of analysis and comment from those in the know. There are echoes here of the aftermath of Harry and Meghan’s media assaults.”
They could be in for a similar ‘fate’
He went on to say that Brooklyn could be in for a similar fate as Harry: leaving him deemed as untrustworthy by his famous relatives.
This would ultimately put a huge strain on their relationships.
Richard said: “The cruelty and bitterness in his attack on his parents can be compared to the Sussexes attacks on the royal family. There is now talk of reconciliation between Harry and his father. Although, it is far less likely between him and his brother.
“At its heart, must surely be trust as, with Brooklyn and Nicola, if they do reconcile, will they ever be trusted again by David and Victoria after he has been responsible for something so devastating?”
