Princess Kate Middleton’s sweet confession about Queen Elizabeth II

Speaking on the 2016 documentary, Our Queen at Ninety, Kate gushed that her grandmother-in-law “remains calm and collected” and “always seems so dignified,” dubbing this ability as a “real skill”.

Princess Kate seemed somewhat nervous as she stated this in the documentary. Now, we know the Princess of Wales as effortlessly confident and a icon of inspiration for the public.

At the time, a decade ago, Kate’s role model was Queen Elizabeth and her actions as monarch.

“Everyone feels like they’ve had some quality time with Her Majesty and, also, a real personal connection and I think that’s a real skill,” the princess praised.

Queen Elizabeth II’s treatment of the public

Queen Elizabeth famously spoke with thousands of people each year. And many of these people had stories to share about the monarch’s warmth and kind nature.

“I think she’s so, so engaging. She has got the most fantastic smile and I think if the Queen says nothing but she smiles, I think it gives everybody such a huge amount of joy and a huge amount of pleasure,” Kate said.

It seems Kate has already earned a similar reputation, with many stories emerging through the years about her kind and warm approach.

Elsewhere in the documentary, Kate revealed that there is a “real art to walkabouts”.

She said of meeting with the public that “everyone teases me in the family that I spend far too long chatting”.

Princess Kate opened up about meeting people

Nowadays, it seems Kate has struck a perfect balance and got used to spending “quality time,” with individuals whilst still meeting with as many people as possible.

Earlier this month, Princess Kate celebrated her 44th birthday.

She reportedly enjoyed a brunch out with her sister Pippa and mum Carole. This outing garnered a glowing response from the establishment they dined at.

“The entire team on duty reported the same thing: she was utterly charming, gracious and every bit as radiant in person as you might imagine,” the owners of the bistro Kate ate at on her birthday wrote to social media.

In the 2016 documentary, Kate also discussed how supportive Queen Elizabeth was of her.

Speaking of a visit to Leicester without William by her side, Kate said Her Majesty was “very supportive”.

“The fact she took the time to make sure that I was happy and looked after for that particular occasion, which probably in everything that she’s doing is a very small element, which just shows how caring she is, really,” Kate gushed.
