The one thing 'stopping' a Prince Harry and Prince William reconciliation happening as brothers 'worlds apart'
The Duke of Sussex called for a family reconciliation last yearA reconciliation between brothers Prince William and Prince Harry has been speculated about for years.
Harry’s relationship with William has been strained for some years now. After stepping back from senior royal duties and moving to the US in 2020, Harry, 41, and his wife, Meghan Markle, have shared their experience being in the royal family.
However, damning allegations from Harry and Meghan over the years has meant that their relationship with the royal family has taken a hit.
Last year, Harry admitted he would love to reconcile with his family. In September 2025, Harry met with his father, King Charles, for the first time in 19 months for a private tea. However, the duke didn’t meet with his older brother, William, 43.
Now, one royal author has revealed what is needed for the brothers to reunite.

Prince Harry’s return to the UK
Last week, Prince Harry returned to the UK for court appearances amid his privacy legal case against the publisher of the Daily Mail.
Harry, along with several other celebrity claimants, is suing Associated Newspapers Limited (ANL) over alleged breaches of privacy. The publisher has denied the allegations.
William is building a future and he no longer needs Harry’s drama.
However, despite being back in Britain, Harry didn’t meet with his family. Instead, Prince William and his wife, Princess Catherine, travelled to Scotland for engagements.
The king was also reportedly in Scotland.
According to royal author Robert Jobson, William and Harry are “worlds apart” despite both being in the UK at the same time.

Will Prince William and Harry have a reconciliation?
Speaking to HELLO!, Jobson said: “Yes, they were in the same country, but it’s like they’re worlds apart. William and Kate are the embodiment of the future of the monarchy, while Harry looks trapped in the past.
“Right now, William is focused on duty, Harry on grievance. William is building a future and he no longer needs Harry’s drama. You can’t bridge that gap when one brother is moving forward and the other won’t let go of the past and the bitterness.
“Reconciliation needs compromise, but it mostly needs trust, and there is no trust between the brothers.”
Over the years, Harry and William’s relationship has become strained. In his memoir Spare, Prince Harry alleged that William physically attacked him during a disagreement in 2019 over Meghan.

Harry’s allegations about William
He claimed that William called Meghan “difficult”, “rude” and “abrasive”. He alleged: “He set down the water, called me another name, then came at me. It all happened so fast. So very fast. He grabbed me by the collar, ripping my necklace, and he knocked me to the floor.
“I landed on the dog’s bowl, which cracked under my back, the pieces cutting into me. I lay there for a moment, dazed, then got to my feet and told him to get out.”
Harry claimed William later left, “looking regretful, and apologised”.

Meanwhile, in his and Meghan’s explosive Oprah Winfrey interview in 2021, Harry claimed that his father and brother were “trapped” within the institution, meaning the royal family.
Buckingham Palace later responded to the interview, saying matters would be dealt with privately.
Despite all of this, in May last year, Harry called for a reconciliation. He told the BBC: “Of course, some members of my family will never forgive me for writing a book. But I would love reconciliation with my family.”
Will that ever happen? Guess we’ll have to wait and see…
