Meghan Markle’s role as a murdering ‘princess’ on Castle
14 years ago, in 2012, Meghan appeared in a now-cancelled TV crime drama, Castle.
Castle ran for eight series between 2009 and 2016. Meghan’s appearance came in season 4, episode 17, titled “Once Upon a Crime”.
I forgot that she was the murderer, and I am shocked! I am shocked!
Meghan appeared in a fairytale-themed episode that saw three characters, who were dressed up as Little Red Riding Hood, Snow White and Prince Charming, get murdered.
The Duchess of Sussex played the role of Charlotte Boyd, who dressed up as Sleeping Beauty. However, in a shock twist, it turned out that Meghan’s character had been the murderer all along!
In 2018, star of Castle, Nathan Fillion, reflected on his time on the show, and acting alongside Meghan, in an interview with Entertainment Tonight.

‘I was shocked!’
Fillion, now 54, who is best known for his roles in Firefly, The Rookies, and Superman, admitted that he’d forgotten that Meghan played the murderer during her guest episode of the show.
“I remember the entire episode, and I remember she was one of our fairy-tale princesses,” he said.
“I forgot that she was the murderer, and I am shocked! I am shocked!”
Fillion then pretended to be shocked about Meghan’s royal wedding, which at the time of the interview was just days away.
“What a wonderful surprise! How lovely for her! Congratulations,” he said.

Meghan Markle set to return to acting
Shortly before tying the knot with Prince Harry, Meghan quit her job as an actor to focus on marrying into the royal family.
However, the duchess will make a return to the screen with a cameo in the upcoming movie, Close Personal Friends.
Close Personal Friends stars Brie Larson, Lily Collins, Jack Quaid, and Henry Golding. The film follows an ordinary couple who, during a trip to Santa Barbara, become entangled with a famous couple.
Earlier this month, during an interview with Variety, Meghan opened up about making a return to the world of acting.
“It was great,” she gushed.
“It was a lot of fun. But that’s just the point, right? We continue to explore different ways to uplift and celebrate the entertainment industry and all the incredible pieces of work that are out there… Cookie Queens being one of them,” she continued.
Meghan made a ‘strong impression’ on the cast and crew
Though just a cameo, Close Personal Friends will mark Meghan’s first scripted role since she left Suits. Meghan played Rachel Zane on legal drama Suits for several years.
According to an insider who spoke to PEOPLE, it seems Meghan made a strong impression on the cast and crew.
“She introduced herself as ‘Meghan,'” the source then said. “Everything about her was very sweet and calm. She genuinely seemed excited to be on set.”
