Prince Harry's shocking true feelings about meeting Queen Camilla for the first time laid bare in memoir
Harry's relationship with Camilla didn't seem to get off to the best startIn his memoir, Spare, Prince Harry opened up about his reaction to meeting Queen Camilla for the first time.
Harry, 41, also confessed that he begged his father, King Charles, not to marry Camilla during the early days of their relationship as he feared she’d be a “wicked stepmother” towards him.

Prince Harry made Queen Camilla confession in Spare
Harry made a number of shock revelations in his book, Spare.
In the book, Harry said that he and his older brother, Prince William, would not stand in the way of their father’s relationship with Camilla.
However, he revealed that he had asked Charles not to walk down the aisle for a second time. He even branded Queen Camilla “the other woman”.
I remember wondering if she would be cruel to me.
Camilla was often referred to as the “other woman” during Charles’ marriage to Harry and William’s mother, Princess Diana.
Harry wrote in Spare: “Despite Willy [Prince William] and me urging him not to, Pa was going ahead. We pumped his hand, wished him well. No hard feelings. We recognised that he was finally going to be with the woman he loved, the woman he’d always loved.”

Prince Harry’s ‘wicked stepmother’ comment
The Duke of Sussex’s confessions didn’t stop there.
Prince Harry likened his first meeting with Camilla to having an injection.
“Close your eyes, over before you know it,” he wrote.
“I have a dim recollection of Camilla being just as calm (or bored) as me. Neither of us much fretted about the other’s opinion. She wasn’t my mother, and I wasn’t her biggest hurdle. In other words, I wasn’t the Heir. This bit with me was mere formality.”
He also wrote in the book regarding Camilla: “I remember wondering if she would be cruel to me. If she would be like all the wicked stepmothers in the stories.”
Harry later addressed the “wicked stepmother” comment in an interview with Good Morning America in 2023. He said: “I don’t look at her as an evil stepmother. I see someone who married into this institution, and has done everything she can to improve her own reputation and her own image, for her own sake.”

Prince Harry on ‘physical altercation’ with William
Elsewhere in his new book, Harry has detailed a time when an argument with William allegedly turned physical.
Harry and his brother reportedly clashed back in 2019.
In the lead-up to the alleged argument turning physical, William had reportedly called Harry’s wife Meghan Markle “difficult”, “rude”, and “abrasive”.
As the argument boiled over, Harry said he moved into the kitchen and offered William some water.
“He set down the water, called me another name, then came at me. It all happened so fast. So very fast. He grabbed me by the collar, ripping my necklace, and he knocked me to the floor,” Harry claimed.
“I landed on the dog’s bowl, which cracked under my back, the pieces cutting into me. I lay there for a moment, dazed, then got to my feet and told him to get out.”
The future king later left, “looking regretful, and apologised,” according to Harry.
