The royal family ‘can’t escape’ Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor’s scandal as ‘new bombshell’ looms
The royal family could be in for more scrutiny
The royal family has faced major scrutiny in recent years, largely due to the scandal looming over Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor.
The former prince, who was stripped of his titles last year, has notoriously been linked to convicted late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein and has even been accused of sexual assault by Virginia Giuffre.
All claims Andrew vehemently denies. Despite this, the stench of scandal lingers, as per reports.
And royal author Andrew Lownie has threatened to drop another bombshell…

Royal family threatened by Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor scandal
Last year, King Charles shared that “notwithstanding” Andrew’s denials of wrongdoing, it was “deemed necessary” to officially strip him of his titles and royal styles.
A decision made for good.
Andrew has even given up his long-term home, Royal Lodge.
He is expected to move to a more modest home, Marsh Farm, at Sandringham, in the coming weeks.
The former prince was persuaded to leave his residence of over 20 years after it emerged that he had only been paying a “peppercorn” rent for the mansion.
Despite the royal family distancing themselves from Andrew, it seems they can’t get away from the storm of scandal that looms around him.
Royal author Andrew Lownie, who penned Entitled: The Rise and Fall of the House of York told The Mirror that he thinks that more stories could emerge about Andrew.
More drama ‘looms’ for the royal family
And these stories likely don’t bode well for the reputation of The Firm.
Andrew Lownie believes more stories about the disgraced prince could “drip” for a long time to come.
He thinks that because of this, the royal family should keep Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor at a “distance”.
Andrew Lownie even confirmed he has his own stories to reveal about Andrew.

He said: “I think more stories will emerge. I’ve got my paperback coming out in May, I’ve got a lot of new information in that. Which I’m afraid doesn’t present any of them in a positive light.
“I think there will be more Epstein revelations. More legal depositions unsealed, more victims coming forward. This thing will just drip, drip for ages. Which is why I think the royal family need to distance themselves from the [York] family.”
Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor’s distancing from The Firm
Lownie has also said of Andrew being pushed out of the royal fold in recent years: “They should have done this years ago. But at least they’ve done it now.”
Royal expert Kate Mansey for The Times, has also discussed the scrutiny that surrounds the royal family, their image and Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor.
She said: “In the whole sorry saga, William was often painted as the tough guy urging his father to put his foot down. This image of ruthless William was, I’m told, wide of the mark.”
She went on to say: “If anything, William was deeply concerned for his uncle’s mental health and how Andrew would cope after everything was taken away. Nevertheless, William realised that while Andrew had always denied any wrongdoing, he supported his father’s decision to strip Andrew of his royal titles. Kate, in turn, supported her husband in the matter.”
Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor’s representatives and Buckingham Palace have been contacted for comment.
