Kate Middleton's 'subtle sign of support' for Victoria Beckham amid family feud
The Princess of Wales donned a Victoria Beckham original earlier this week
Kate Middleton appeared to send a quiet message of solidarity to Victoria Beckham by stepping out in a pair of trousers from the designer’s fashion label during a royal visit to west Wales.
Wearing Victoria Beckham’s Alina flared trousers, the Princess of Wales chose to spotlight the British brand just weeks after the Beckham family was rocked by a very public fallout involving their eldest son, Brooklyn Beckham.
Brooklyn made headlines last month when he posted a lengthy six-page Instagram statement appearing to distance himself from his parents and siblings.
In the statement, he accused Victoria and David of prioritising “Brand Beckham” over him. He even alleged that his mother “danced inappropriately” with him during his first dance.

While Kate made no mention of the Beckhams during her visit, her wardrobe choice didn’t go unnoticed.
This isn’t the first time she has worn pieces from Victoria Beckham’s label.
Back in May 2025, the princess wore a full Victoria Beckham suit, consisting of a chic olive green patch pocket blazer and matching Alina trousers, while presenting the Queen Elizabeth II Award for British Design at an event hosted by the British Fashion Council.
The ensemble turned heads at the time for what it represented: a future queen openly supporting British fashion.
The Beckhams have been strong supporters of the royal family for decades.
Sir David Beckham was knighted by King Charles in November 2025 for his contributions to football and philanthropy. He has also maintained close ties with Prince William over the years.
David and Victoria also famously attended Harry and Meghan’s 2018 wedding in Windsor.
Kate Middleton visits Wales
Meanwhile, on Tuesday, February 3, the Princess of Wales travelled to Melin Tregwynt, a historic woollen mill in Pembrokeshire, where she celebrated Welsh craftsmanship and textile heritage.
Kate paired her Victoria Beckham trousers with a bespoke coat made from Melin Tregwynt fabric.
She accessorised with gold earrings and completed the look with Emmy London heels.
During the visit, the princess met with weavers, apprentices, and the mill’s director, Louise Clarke, who praised her enthusiasm and approachability.
“[She] had a keen interest in what everybody was doing and why,” Clarke told PEOPLE. “It was like chatting to someone who had just popped in.”
Kate even took part in loom weaving and fabric mending, prompting Clarke to joke: “You could be our new apprentice!”
Kate’s interest in British textiles is personal.
Her paternal ancestors, the Luptons, were wool manufacturers in Leeds. Her great-grandfather, Noel Middleton, served as a director of William Lupton & Co. The company was later acquired by AW Hainsworth, a heritage mill she visited in 2023.
Over the past year, she’s visited several family-run factories and textile innovators across the UK, including Hiut Denim Wales, a brand once worn by Meghan Markle.
