Prince William receives handmade gift from Kate Middleton after Wales trip
Kate showed off her crafty side...
Following her visit to west Wales this week, Kate Middleton returned home with a special gift for her husband, Prince William: a bespoke pair of hand-stitched jeans.
During her engagement at Hiut Denim, a family-owned jeans manufacturer in Cardigan, the Princess of Wales helped create the £245 jeans by sewing in a signature “Made in Wales” label before they were gifted to her for the future king.
“He will love these,” Kate gushed as she was handed the finished jeans, according to PEOPLE.

The 44-year-old princess toured the factory floor and met with staff, apprentices, and master cutters, including Claudio Belotti, who has over 50 years of denim-cutting experience.
With his guidance, Kate tried her hand at cutting and finishing jeans.
“No pressure,” Belotti joked as he passed her the cutting tools.
“I love making things,” Kate replied, as reported by GB News. “I think I would really enjoy making denims. The most adventurous I got was making a pair of pyjamas… and I don’t know where they’ve gone now!”
Hiut Denim is known for producing high-quality, sustainable jeans entirely in the UK.
In addition to the pair made for William, Kate was also gifted a pair of her own from the brand’s upcoming collection.
As Kate arrived at the factory, she was met by a rather fashionable host, Barney, the company’s English cocker spaniel mascot, who greeted her wearing a denim bow tie.
The princess, clearly delighted, crouched to stroke the dog.
“You are lovely!” She gushed, before telling staff: “We have the same breed of dog.”
She then shared that the Wales family now has two spaniels.
Kate said: “We’ve got a little puppy. He’s only eight months, and Orla’s five.”

Meanwhile, outside the factory, Kate took time to greet members of the public.
When one well-wisher asked after her health, the princess reportedly offered a rare personal response.
“Thank you very much,” she said. “This is good for my soul, meeting wonderful people.”
The comment comes after a challenging period for the princess. Kate underwent abdominal surgery in January 2024 and later revealed she had been receiving preventative chemotherapy.
She announced in January 2025 that she had entered remission and has since gradually returned to public engagements.
Kate’s visit to Hiut Denim is part of her ongoing effort to support sustainable, British-made fashion. Her trip to Wales also included a stop at Melin Tregwynt, a historic woollen mill.
The princess donned a pair of trousers designed by Victoria Beckham for the occasion. She accessorised with Spells of Love earrings and wore chocolate suede Emmy London pumps, continuing her long-standing tradition of spotlighting British brands through her style choices.
Kate has kept a full schedule in recent weeks. Earlier this month, as patron of the Rugby Football League, she visited Wakefield Trinity.
While speaking to onlookers, she revealed that Princess Charlotte enjoys sports but hasn’t taken up rugby, yet.
“She does loads of sport, but not rugby,” Kate said, before adding: “I love this. The league game is so embedded in community life. They’re absolute gold dust, really. And I’m so proud to help support the league across the country.”
