Prediction made over Kate Middleton's future in the royal family
Will Kate help turn things around?Princess Kate Middleton is “key” for the royal family in 2026, an expert has claimed.
It’s been a turbulent 2026 so far for the royal family, and we’re only just over a month into the year!

Princess Kate Middleton is ‘key’ for royals this year
Princess Catherine has been scaling up her royal duties this year, something one royal expert believes is a good thing.
The royal has taken on several royal engagements so far in 2026, including trips to Wakefield, Bradford, and a recent trip to Scotland.
Katie’s increased workload is no coincidence, according to one royal expert. Speaking to The People’s Channel, royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams said: “I think that the fact that Princess Kate is doing more, I think that’s very important, because she’s so popular, both of the Waleses are.”
“She also has significant influence over fashion. She is an icon helping produce and launch brands,” he then continued.
“With the continued improvement of her condition, she will be a standout member of the Firm and a key to the family in 2026,” he then added.

Kate Middleton is a ‘huge asset’ to the royal family
Last year, during a chat with The Express, royal correspondent Jennie Bond spoke about how important Kate is within the royal family.
“The king knows what a huge asset Catherine is to the monarchy and how important she is to William,” she said.
“I think there is genuine affection between them,” she added. “He must be so proud and happy to know that his son has a wife who will support and love him…just as Camilla supports and loves Charles. It bodes well for the future,” she then added.
Additionally, when asked last year whether Kate is the royal family’s secret weapon, royal expert Ingrid Seward said: “She is the weapon, [but] not a secret one.”

Signs Kate is ‘ready’ for her role as queen
Earlier this week, Kate visited Melin Tregwynt woollen mill in West Wales for an engagement.
During the visit, she displayed some of the “most striking” signs that she’s “ready to lead”, according to body language expert Darren Stanton.
Speaking on behalf of Betfair Casino, Darren said: “What really stands out to me is her humility and grounded nature. Despite the fact that she is destined to become Queen of England, that sense of status never seems to dominate how she carries herself.”
One of the aforementioned “striking” signals of this, is her smile, according to Stanton.
He explained that Kate’s smile shows “genuine joy”, complete with dimples, crinkled eyes, and lifted cheekbones.
These features, he said, reflect “a full, open expression of happiness and engagement”.
“[Kate] doesn’t rely on the presence of other senior royals to project confidence or authority. That ease speaks volumes about her growing self-assurance and her evolution into a more vital, central figure within the monarchy,” he said.
“There’s no performance or obligation,” Stanton continued. “This ability to connect so sincerely… underscores not only her confidence but also her readiness for the larger role she is steadily growing into.”
