Prince William and Princess Kate melt fans' hearts after sweet act in public: 'Made for the throne'
"Royal in stature, yet deeply human in the way they serve"Royal fans have declared that Prince William and Kate Middleton are “made for the throne” following a sweet gesture they made in public recently.
The future king, 43, has been on a solo trip to Saudi Arabia this week. The visit was requested by the UK government, to deepen ties between the two states.
On the final day on Wednesday (February 11), William headed to the Sharaan Nature Reserve in AlUla. But it was his behaviour at the stunning desert landscape that got plenty of people talking…

Prince William on royal trip without Kate
This week, William visited the Sharaan Nature Reserve. There, he found out all about the work of the RCU’s (Royal Commission for AlUla) habitat and restoration team.
The hardworking members of staff planted 500,000 trees last year to help restore the local ecosystem. They have big plans for the next decade too, as they plan to plant 10 million across the reserve as well.
Not afraid to get stuck in, William planted another tree and chose not to wear gloves. Raking over the soil, the Prince of Wales admitted: “I like to get my hands dirty.”
William’s sweet moment no doubt sparked comparisons to wife Kate, who last year planted a flower named in her honour, the “Catherine Rose” at Colchester Hospital.
Like her husband William, Kate surprised members of the public as she refused to wear gloves. Instead, she was more than happy to touch the soil.

William and Kate applauded by fans
Royal fans quickly reacted to William planting without wearing gloves. One person said: “When your future King and Queen don’t mind getting their hands dirty – that’s how you know they were made for the throne.
“Royal in stature, yet deeply human in the way they serve. Love them all the way – Prince William and Catherine, Princess of Wales.”
Another said: “This is real tree planting.”
A third chimed in: “My future King and Queen at work — not just speaking about change, but planting it.”
Someone else mused: “If I remember the clip from Catherine’s planting she specifically asked if she had to wear gloves, she had even put them on, then took them off when told no she didn’t have to.”

Prince William quizzed over Princess Kate
Earlier on in the week, and while in Saudi Arabia, William met young female footballers during a visit to the MISK Sports City in Riyadh.
As the girls spoke to William in between training drills, they only had one thing on their mind: the Princess of Wales. After posing for a group photo, William was then asked by them: “Did Princess Kate come with you?”
However, William let them know that, unfortunately, she hadn’t, leading to a disappointed “Oh!” from the group.
The prince was also told he should bring his family to Saudi Arabia.
“They would love it here,” he said. “Will you show them how to play football? My children love football, but you guys are another level. I can see you guys will be at the World Cup very soon, and then you’re going to make me feel very old.”
