Prince William's shock saucy confession during interview: 'I’ve been told not to say that'
Cheeky William!Prince William no doubt shocked a few people after the future king previously made a saucy confession during an interview on the radio.
Back in 2023, William and wife Kate Middleton appeared on BBC Radio 1 and chatted to hosts Vick Hope and Jordan North.
But things took a cheeky turn when William spoke about his favourite emoji…

Prince William’s saucy admission during interview
On BBC Radio 1 in 2023, William and Kate stopped by for an interview to commemorate World Mental Health Day.
During their chat, the conversation turned to the topic of emojis. When asked what his favourite one was to use, William joked that it was the aubergine emoji.
“Is this a clean thing or is this a family one? I’ve been told not to say the aubergine, so I’ve got to pick something else,” William confessed.
He added: “It would have been the aubergine but I’m saying now ― because I’ve got to be all grown up ― it’s the one where the eyes go up and down and the mouth’s out.”

What did Prince William say?
Co-host Vick joked to Jordan: “Prince William is dirtier than anything you’ve ever said,” before adding later on that she hopes William has a “dirty mind”.
As for Kate, she revealed her favourite emoji was “the heart then the crying emoji” and explained: “The sort of like ‘hysterical laughing’ when things have gone wrong.”
As well as their emoji preferences, Kate and Will gave a rare insight into their family life. Revealing their ideal dinner plans, Kate shared: “Curry or teriyaki or salmon.”
However, Prince William confessed: “I can’t do too much spice. I start sweating. It’s not attractive. [Kate] has to bring it in gently because otherwise, I get too sweaty. It’s not a nice sight.”

‘Thank you for reminding me about that’
Meanwhile, a few years later, Vick encountered William again and brought up his saucy aubergine confession.
“Good to see you, how are you?” Vick told William in 2025, on the set of Clarkson’s Farm for an upcoming episode. He replied: “Very well, thank you. It’s been a while since we caught up in Birmingham.”
Vick then cheekily quipped: “It was, it was. You mentioned the aubergine emoji was your favourite.”
William laughed and said back: “Yes. Thank you for reminding me about that. It felt like the environment to do it, not for today maybe.”
Vick then added: “That was the Radio 1 capacity. But yes, today is a very different setting.”
William’s solo royal trip
In other Prince William news, the royal recently went on a solo trip to Saudi Arabia. While there, William met young female footballers during a visit to the MISK Sports City in Riyadh.
As the girls spoke to William in between training drills, they only had one thing on their mind: the Princess of Wales. After posing for a group photo, William was then asked by them: “Did Princess Kate come with you?”
However, William let them know that, unfortunately, she hadn’t, leading to a disappointed “Oh!” from the group.
The prince was also told he should bring his family to Saudi Arabia.
“They would love it here,” he said. “Will you show them how to play football? My children love football, but you guys are another level. I can see you guys will be at the World Cup very soon, and then you’re going to make me feel very old.”
