Andrew has also faced sexual assault allegations. The late Virginia Giuffre alleged she was made to have sex with Andrew on three separate occasions when she was 17 after being trafficked by Epstein in the early 2000s.

Andrew has always vehemently denied Ms Giuffre’s allegations.

On January 30, more than three million files relating to Epstein and his crimes were released by the US Department of Justice.

Within the files, images appeared to show Andrew on all fours, crouching over an unidentified female. She is fully clothed and lying on the floor. No context has been given for the image.

Meanwhile, emails within the files allegedly show that Andrew passed on confidential trade information to Epstein in 2010. This was during the ex-duke’s time as the UK’s Special Representative for International Trade and Investment.

Andrew has always denied any wrongdoing in relation to Epstein. Additionally, being named or pictured in the Epstein files does not indicate wrongdoing.

Now, Hillary Clinton has weighed in on the Epstein files scandal.

The 78-year-old has accused the Trump Administration of a “cover-up” over its handling of the files related to the disgraced financier and his crimes.

Speaking to the BBC, she also addressed the ongoing pressure for Andrew to go before a congressional committee and be questioned about his links to Epstein.

Hillary and her husband, former US President Bill Clinton, have reached an agreement to testify in an investigation into Epstein.

“I think everybody should testify who is asked to testify,” she said.

She added: “I just want it to be fair. I want everybody treated the same way.”

Hillary said she had met Epstein’s convicted associate, Ghislaine Maxwell, “on a few occasions”.

Meanwhile, her husband, Bill, was acquainted with Epstein but cut off contact decades ago. He has denied knowledge of his sex offending.

Calls for police investigation into Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor’s Epstein links

Following the fresh release of Epstein files last month, the king and Buckingham Palace released a statement in which they said they would not stand in the way of a police investigation.

In a statement, Buckingham Palace said: “The king has made clear, in words and through unprecedented actions, his profound concern at allegations which continue to come to light in respect of Mr Mountbatten-Windsor’s conduct.

“While the specific claims in question are for Mr Mountbatten-Windsor to address, if we are approached by Thames Valley Police, we stand ready to support them as you would expect,” it then continued.

“As was previously stated, Their Majesties’ thoughts and sympathies have been, and remain with, the victims of any and all forms of abuse.”
