Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor is reportedly “seething” following his arrest and release from police custody, with insiders claiming the disgraced former royal has now turned to King Charles for support.

The king’s younger brother was detained last week at Wood Farm on the Sandringham estate on suspicion of misconduct in public office.

He was questioned for several hours and released pending further investigation.

Shortly after the arrest, King Charles issued a statement confirming the Royal Family’s “full and wholehearted support and cooperation” with police.

“The law must take its course,” he added firmly.

The monarch’s response was widely viewed as an attempt to distance the Crown from the controversy. However, sources claim Andrew has reacted with fury behind palace walls.

“He’s absolutely seething about how this has all been handled,” an insider told Closer. “He’s still trying to get Charles to step up and back him properly, especially when it comes to funding his legal fight.”

Andrew has denied all wrongdoing. He is said to believe he is being unfairly singled out due to his association with Jeffrey Epstein and allegations surrounding his former trade envoy role.

“He’s adamant he’s being made a scapegoat… and thinks it’s unfair he’s being left to take the fall alone,” the source added.

Behind the scenes, Andrew is reportedly preparing to defend himself publicly. Insiders have claimed he is keeping detailed records as he considers telling his side of the story.

“He’s saying he’s ready to fight back.”

Speculation has also emerged implying that Andrew could consider penning a memoir to have his say. He is allegedly said to be using this threat as a “bargaining chip,” as per reports.

The situation has reportedly added further strain on King Charles, who is undergoing cancer treatment.

Andrew may ‘never step foot in a palace again’

Meanwhile, Andrew could reportedly be permanently frozen out of royal life. The former Duke of York has since returned to Wood Farm on the Sandringham estate after his arrest. He recently vacated Royal Lodge in Windsor.

He was taken into custody over allegations that he shared confidential information with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein during his time serving as the UK’s trade envoy.

Royal commentators now believe the fallout could mark a permanent rupture between the king and his brother.

Speaking on The Jeremy Kyle Breakfast Show, royal biographer Angela Levin suggested relations between the pair may be beyond repair.

She said she “doubts they will ever have a nice conversation again,” adding that King Charles appears determined to keep his distance.

Levin also claimed the monarch has taken deliberate steps to avoid contact.

“He doesn’t want to see him,” she added, as reported by Express. He doesn’t want Andrew to come up to him… and have a laugh or a smile.”

When asked whether Andrew could ever return to Buckingham Palace or other major royal residences, Levin was blunt. “No. I’m sure not.”

The comments come amid mounting pressure on the King to protect the institution’s reputation. Charles has already stripped Andrew of all royal titles and honours.

Representatives for King Charles and Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor have been contacted for comment.
