Kate Middleton’s shock parenting confession in rare look at home life: 'My children probably wouldn’t forgive me'
Oh dear Kate...Kate Middleton previously made a confession about what her children really think of her singing skills.
The Princess of Wales is a proud mum to Prince George, 12, Princess Charlotte, 10, and seven-year-old Prince Louis. Kate shares her children with Prince William, whom she married in 2011.
And back in 2022, Kate made a rare home life confession about what her children think of her singing. And it appears they are not exactly a fan…
Kate Middleton’s shock confession about children
In 2022, Kate, who has played piano since she was a child, hosted her annual Christmas carol concert.
However, while it’s clear Kate has epic piano playing skills, according to her kids the same can’t be said for her singing…
“On the piano, you can slightly hide away a bit more than you can do singing,” Kate shared, while speaking to Alfie Boe.
She went on: “Actually my children probably wouldn’t forgive me. I’m not sure whether they think I’ve got a particularly good singing voice. I’ll have to have some lessons.”
Kate’s piano skills
In 2021, Kate hosted her first Christmas concert. She ended up accompanying singer Tom Walker for his performance of ‘For Those Who Can’t Be Here’. The future queen sat down at the piano and played along to the melancholy track.

Talking about Kate joining him for the performance, Tom said: “I thought she absolutely smashed the performance.
“It’s not easy to just jump behind a piano with a bunch of musicians you’ve never played with before and record live takes to camera, but she completely nailed it.”
Music is ‘so important’ to Kate
What’s more, it was also claimed that Kate came up with the idea herself after taking “great comfort” in playing music during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Kate revealed in her introduction to the carol service: “Music was so important to me during the pandemic as I think it was to so many people too.”
More recently, Kate played piano during the 2025 Together at Christmas concert – and she wasn’t alone. Joining her was Princess Charlotte for a beautiful piano duet at Windsor Castle.
The mother-and-daughter duo performed Holm Sound by Scottish composer Erland Cooper.
