Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie have reportedly been told that they can’t attend Royal Ascot this year amid their dad Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor’s scandal.

The sisters have kept a low public profile since Andrew was arrested last month on suspicion of misconduct in public office. The specific details of the allegations of misconduct being investigated are unknown.

However, it comes after he faced allegations over sharing confidential documents with late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

Hours after his arrest, Andrew was released under investigation.

But now, it’s been claimed that Beatrice and Eugenie are facing the fall-out from their dad’s scandal. The pair have reportedly not been invited to attend Royal Ascot –  and they are said to not be best pleased about it…

Beatrice and Eugenie ‘not attending Ascot’ amid Andrew scandal

The news of Andrew’s arrest sent shockwaves all over the globe last month. In a statement, Thames Valley Police confirmed: “We have today arrested a man in his sixties from Norfolk on suspicion of misconduct in public office.”

The arrest came during a time of intense scrutiny against Andrew over his past association with disgraced financier Epstein.

Following the arrest, Andrew’s brother, King Charles, spoke out and insisted the royal family would support police in its investigation.

As for the princesses, and their mother, Sarah Ferguson, they have not yet commented publicly. Nonetheless, daughter Princess Eugenie was spotted out and about days after Andrew’s arrest. She was seen with her husband Jack Brooksbank on a street outside Hagen Espresso Bar in Notting Hill.

However, it has now been alleged that Beatrice and Eugenie will not be joining the Royal Family at the races at Ascot this year.

Beatrice ‘completely blindsided by all of this’

Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie have been regulars at Royal Ascot for years. This year though, things are reportedly going to look a little different as the sisters have been ‘banned’.

A source recently told Daily Mail: “I’ve spoken to my friend who works at Ascot and they said the girls have been told they can’t be there this year. Beatrice has taken it the hardest. She’s been completely blindsided by all of this.”

Another insider also claimed: “Ascot would be out of the question because the royals have been told they can’t have pictures with the girls for the rest of the year.”

Royal Insider has contacted representatives and Buckingham Palace for comment.

Why was Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor arrested?

On February 19, 2026, Andrew was arrested by police on suspicion of misconduct in public office. The specific details of the allegations of misconduct being investigated are unknown.  He was released hours later under investigation.

Scrutiny has been mounting over Andrew’s association with Epstein, who died in prison in 2019, following the recent release of millions of files relating to the disgraced financier.

Following the release of files, Andrew was accused of sharing sensitive and confidential information with Epstein about his official work as a UK trade envoy. Under official guidance, trade envoys have a duty of confidentiality over sensitive, commercial, or political information about their official visits.

Andrew has always denied any wrongdoing in relation to Epstein. This arrest should not be seen as any indication of guilt and there are no charges yet.

He served as a UK trade envoy between 2001 and 2011. In 2010, Andrew allegedly forwarded official reports from trade visits to Epstein, according to the files.
